I found this on www.pet-abuse.com/Dog-fighting - dog found dead - (Bridgeville, DE - US) Crime Date: 04/26/2005 Case Status: Alleged Abusers/Suspects: Randolph Clayton Case Report A man has been arrested on dog fighting and animal cruelty charges after animal control officers found a dead pit bull in the woods near his home. John E. Caldwell, executive director of the Delaware Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, said Randolph Clayton is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $6,000 bail. A hearing is scheduled for April 28, 2005. According to court records, a neighbor notified SPCA officials about 9:45 a.m. Thursday that Clayton and another man were seen walking into the woods on his property with two pit bulls, one black and one brown. The two men allegedly then emerged from the woods with only one pit bull, which appeared to be bloody, authorities said in court documents. After a half-hour, the neighbor ventured into the woods and discovered the brown pit bull dead. Animal control officers questioned the caller and retrieved the dead dog. They also seized the injured black pit bull from Clayton's home so it could be treated by a veterinarian. The dog was covered in blood and had multiple bite wounds, authorities said in court records. When Clayton returned home, he refused to give the animal control officers identification and acted argumentative, authorities said. State police were called in for assistance. Caldwell said Clayton's boots and jeans had blood splattered on them. The witness identified Clayton as one of the two men seen entering and leaving the woods. The second man has not been located, Caldwell said. "When we locate him, we would bring the charges," he said. Clayton is charged with two counts each of animal cruelty and dog fighting. If convicted, he could face up to a $5,000 fine, three years in prison for each offense and be prohibited from owning any pets for 15 years.

I ONLY WANTED YOU They say memories are golden well maybe that is true I never wanted memories, I only wanted you. A million times I needed you, a million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. --- Anonymous — Ok I am trying not to cry... I just wanted tell you all about my dog Earnest, the best dog I could ask for. Was my sweet little man. He was a Border Collie, Beagle mix. He had the most beautiful eyes. He always did a happy dance when he seen me. He liked to sleep on top of his dog house. One time when I hurt my ankle he snapped his chain in two, so he could get to my side. He loved to go walking with me for miles. He always came to me when I called for him. He liked me to hold him, even though he was a bit to big. He had a smile that warmed my hart. And I will love him forever.

Why why why why! Why would she get a puppy if she knew she would be at work all day. And why would she have a muzzle on him when he’s in the cage? Some people, oh this ticks me off so bad.

First let me say I have nothing against Pit bulls in fact I love them. I do however have a problem with idiots owning them. Or idiots owning any kind of pet. And yes I’m aware that this incident might have been prevented if Charlie had been inside, and not chained up. Today Charlie was in his back yard, when the neighbor’s dog got out of his yard and attacked Charlie. Charlie’s owners James and Esther ran outside to see what was the matter. Whale the neighbor stood by and “laughed” at the dog fight, James was able to get the dogs separated. Animal control was called to the seen. The neighbors dog was taken in to custody. I don’t know what the neighbor was charged with, but because of the breed ban on Pit bulls in KS, the neighbor’s dog will be destroyed. Charlie suffered some bad injuries to his throat and front legs. But he will be fine. It seem to me that this deal sucks. Yes I know that the dog was vicious, but I’m sure the dog had never been off of his chain, or taught any sort obedience. But who gets killed for that?..the dog does. As if any kind of dog can be a great dog when it has been tied up all its life. My sister has learned her lesson. She is not going to leave Charlie chained up any more. She has seen the sad out come of it. Do I think my Sister deserves to have Charlie? No, but I know that she loves him, and pets him and makes sure he has food and water, and gets him to the vet when he needs it. And my hart goes out the that poor Pit bull that may be dead right now, or soon will be. What kind of life he must have had, at the hands of a man who would laugh at a dog fight. And I just wanted to add this. I’m against leaving dogs outside 24-7 no matter if there on a chain or in a pin. And neglect in a pin is just as bad as neglect on a chain. So if you have a dog, do not plan on having it outside all the time. If you put a little more time in to training your dog, you will have a lot better dog, in the long run. And if you don’t want to spend the time training a dog. THEN DON’T GET ONE!

Ok this is where I stand on this. The Pit is a smart Dog and can be a good dog, if it is well cared for and trained right. But sadly that most times is not the case. Most of the time some idiot will get them just because the breed can be a killer. They think that if they have a dog that has a“BAD TO THE BONE” rep, then it makes them the owner “BAD TO THE BONE.” But all that happens are things like other dogs getting hurt or people and KIDS! sometime people are dumb twits and it makes me sick! I once lived next guy that would brag that his dogs were “KILLERS” one time when he said it me, I made the comment back that “I hope that they get YOU first.” I know it was bad to think that, but the guy was so mean to his dogs, and we called animal control on the guy a lot. One day he moved out and left one of the dogs to starve to death. I called animal control and the poor dog got taken away. ;D PS, I know that you take good care of you dog Am, don’t think I was saying all those bad things about you. ;D

I only know bare-bones about training.
But your post reminded me of something I seen a long time ago.
It was a documentary about wolves. In that pack there was a vary subservient female wolf. And she was very skinny and old. All the other wolves seemed to not care about her. She would always eat the last. (as they do in a pack)
But then one day when they were hunting, “I think” she got hurt and died not long after that.
Well you would think they the other wolves wouldn’t care. (One less mouth to feed.)
But no they were all very visibly upset. Even the alpha was calling for her. And trying to get her to wake up. (it still makes me sad to think about it)
They stayed with her body for days and there was no doubt that the pack was mourning.
So I think, if the alpha can get upset, about the lowliest member of the pack dying. Then yes I think love should, and can, exist between the alpha, and the subordinate.
Without love what to you have? What point is there in life without love?
