Ok, I want you to go back and re-read every thread about Blade and his crazyness and how your frustration made your blood pressure skyrocket ;D. Now ask yourself, do you really want a pup in the spring, or would it be better to wait until Blade has reached maturity in another 14 months ?

Nookie (as I call him ;D) is still in foster care, we have a hard time adopting out the pure white huskies, people seem to think that they're not purebred if they're all white . And whatta sweetheart of a dog, too!

God he's absolutely gorgeous. I don't know why people wouldn't snatch him right up if he's got a good disposition.

Aw cm'on...Nookie is a white GSD and you know it!!! The first time I saw a white, and I mean white, Lab I thought *what the ** is that? A Lab/GSD cross? Nope. Anyway, Ann...!!! If those puppies are only a week old they will be ready to go to their permanent homes the end of April, lst of May, so what's the big deal? ;D I know what you mean though. The female Aussie I was going to get a pup from is due any day now to have her pups. I just want to cry all the time, because I decided not to get one either. The reason being that when I inquired about getting one of True's pups, I didn't think my *Pup* would last the winter, his leg was so bad, but since putting him on raw feeding and treating him homeopathy, he is soooooo much better he is like a puppy again himself, and I don't need 3 dogs, let alone three who are puppies!!!

That is a toughie Ann....I know you are in a tough spot right now with everything else going on in your life....to add a female sibe to the mix?
But then again, if someone where to pull this off (and I'd count Loey and most of the other SB'rs in this) you could do it.....
You remembered to think with your head and not your heart (but damn, it sure gets tough some days eh?)
In regards to a second dog, we almost had a chance this summer to pick up an (what we thought) abandond beautiful 2 to 4 year old female GSD...she looked almost like Rocky....some loser just left her in a parkette in downtown Toronto...fortunately, a member of our SAR group (who lives next door to the parkette) found her and turned her over to the animal control people....4 days later the owners came and claimed her..WTF?
You want to talk about getting my blood boiling!!! We found out she was just dumped there by someone around 6am and they just drove off...why would anyone do that to a dog (ok, for me, especially a GSD?). The animal control people just returned her to them like that snap!.....I said it before, if I was an animal control person, there would be a lot of stupid dog owners charged and/or behind bars....some people are really pathetic when it comes to taking care of thier pets (and even kids)....but this rant should be in the temper temper section I guess...
My wife and daughter and me were ready to go and get her...Rocky, well, he would of just had to make room for another female in the house....but I still want to get another GSD, like you I love the breed I've chosen but I always hear that little voice (and no, its not my wife - at least not all the time) saying, its not time yet....
I am proud of you and I know you will know when the time is right...

He is a real beauty. There is something to be said for adopting older dogs. I am a convert. Although I love puppies and love to shape a dog and go though all the puppy stuff....NOT!!!!!!!!!! It was really so life consuming. I just love having an adult. We have our issues but let me tell you, it is a picnic. Laura, if you come across a mild tempered, confident yet not dominant female adult, who is not fearful or aggressive or too large and who is not crazy active (active is okay, but not nuts active), and who gets along with other dogs, and who isn't an instinctual escaper let me know. I am in the considering stage. I will accept for consideration any mix of breed within the specifications I mentioned. I am a mutt lover. Oh and Ann, try an adult. You will never go back!!

Well Nicki, if that's the case we have Nanuk's mirror image (well, almost ;D) ! Here's Skye, she's been in foster care for almost a year now, same thing, nobody wants a white Sibe . Her only negative is a high prey drive, so home with cats is a no no . She just turned 4, so she's fairly calm too!
