One collar that has not made it's way into the debate, as of yet, electronics. I certainly think they have thier place. Used correctly, they are one of the most humane, least damaging collars available.

That's probably because a lot of us "old timer's" here have been over and over the discussion! ;D
But, yes, most of us here agree that e-collars do have their place in training and have no objection to them, when used properly. A lot of us have and do use them.
However; In my experience, even people who call themselves "professional trainer's" misuse the collars in their desire to turn out trained dogs in a minimum of time, and ruin a lot of dogs. Also, in my experience with e-collar's, once used the dog needs a ''refresher" often or they "lose" the training with them, plus most dogs have to always wear the collar or a " dummy" collar or they will learn they don't have to obey when the collar is off.
Personally, the only thing I will use an e-collar for is "avoidance training" as in the case of a dog who knows, for instance, the "recall", but will "blow you off" to chase something. Then I will dust off the e-collar and use it.
I do not agree with using an e-collar to teach commands, as so many use them for today. ;D
