Beef liver doesn't bother me, pigs feet don't either - I think it was the act of sawing through that skin that just made me retch.....
Have any of you guys ever fed chicken feet? The latin market by my house has 'em pretty cheap... I thought it might be fun for something different.

I have'nt fed them to Blade but my grandma use to make soup with them. You know what that was the best chicken soup I ever had. I can't get feet here except for pigs feet, but I bet if I go to the bigger city I will be able to get them there

Yay! Raw Feeding has given me my cat back! My cat has been sulking upstairs since we got Kylie in September 2002... Carmine HATES Kylie...If I wanted to see him I had to go upstairs and coax him out from whatever he was under or behind.
I knew it could take cats a long time to "get over" stuff but I was staring to think I might have to find him a new home...Now he comes downstairs as soon as he hears me let the dogs out in the am...gets his raw stuff -visits me for a few minutes and saunters back upstairs instead of scurrying..we do the same thing at night too.
One more reason to LOVE raw feeding! Carmine gets more confident everyday. ;D

The trainer that helped me with Finn's aggression issue was the one who finally convinced me that Raw feeding was not just for nutcases anymore, and he suggested Raw could also help with anxiety cases, which was Sailor's problem.
So it helping your cat is not a surprise to me. Carmine reminds me of an old proverb, that a dog will forget 10 years of abuse with a single pat on the head, and a cat will forget 10 years of kindness with a single slap. Cats certainly know how to hold a grudge.

Aussienot - that is interesting! He would never come down here for kibble and the few times he did - Kylie would bark from outside and the cat would scram.... now he just sits there munchin his chicken wing! Then he comes and sits in my lap which he hasn't done willingly in so long...I think it is a combo of removing the preservatives and grains (may reduce anxiety) and just increasing the value of the food ....he is willing to "risk" to get it!
On another note my husband looked at me across the table today and told me how great Elvis looked and THANKED me! (Remember he went along with this grudgingly and said we were all on crack).

Cats should definately be fed raw! I wish I had known about the raw feeding and no vacc's when I had my cat....he would probably still be alive today! I doused him in Frontline as per my vets recommendation and it killed him. He lived for years on our ranch in Mt. without Frontline etc. and since he was an indoor/outdoor cat, he at least caught some small critter's and had no mouth problems. Then we moved here and made a *civilized* cat out of him and it killed him!!

I don't know if I should keep doing this - but if you guys are interested... Raw beef heart makes happy dogs - but it makes their poop BLACK and nasty. Just FYI.
