Ann, I was in the same position 6 months ago, I really needed a small truck, but didn't want one that guzzled fuel or my money! I ended up getting a Saturn Vue, may I say, I LOVE IT! Drives like a car, not expensive for a small SUV, and I can fit three dogs in the cargo ;D (more if I drop the seats!). It's great on gas, and the base price for one is like 18,000 (front wheel drive, comes 4x4 too). But forget about trade in, nobody is giving a decent trade in value, I got killed on mine . I should have sold it privately, would've done wayyy better.

And I forgot a really important thing, NO HAGGLING ! The price is the same in NJ or CA, just the tax is different.

Yes the Saturn Vue was one of my choices and I am still waiting for that NICE salesman to get back to me. I don't really need a new one he told me that they have a couple nice used ones with really low miles, but they are standard trans which is fine I like 5 speeds. So we will see the one he has that he is crunching numbers on for me is this really pretty GREEN

White cars, statistically, get the fewest tickets per capita. Grey is second best.
Red cars get the most. You might as well stick a sign on your red car saying GIVE ME TICKETS.
My cousin, who is a highway patrol, says a nondescript white van makes you virtually invisible. Cops assume you are a tradesperson, and give you an incredible amount of slack. My brother, who drives a non-descript white van, can park anywhere, and do anything, including irresponsibily speeding, without consequence. We parked illegally right in front of the law, and watched a Diamondback's game for six hours, with no problems.
No 'sporty' options, no antenna flags, no bumperstickers. Do not have a personalised license plate
Just car color selection food for thought.

My SUV is white and I have never gotten a ticket. I drive responsibly but I am known to make up my own parking spot if necessary. ;D No tickets though. And I used to have a flaming red car and yes I got parking tickets. That's funny Aussie. I never thought about the color relation. And white doesn't look dirty as long as you don't wipe any part of it. If the whole thing is dirty, it looks clean...

ooooh.. I looooove warm cinnamon rolls!! ;D ok bad joke... I got in my friends Golf last year during the winter. I had never heard of a car having seat warmers! I sat there and all the sudden my butt and my back were getting hot. I said "I must be getting sick or something because my butt is getting really hot!" The girl laughed hysterically for forever....
