Holy freakin cow Ann! You have a lot more restraint than I would have been able to have. I am amazed. I have no idea why people like that even get a dog to begin with...

You should tell that dumb bitch to embedd a collar in her own f'ing neck and let YOU treat it at home. On Animal precint the other day they said that is punishable by up to 93 days in jail and $1000.00 fine (in Detroit i think).

Can you report her to your local humane society?

Sorry, you've come to the wrong place for restraint. Kill her. Kill her now. How could anyone think tieing the dog up unsupervised is ever a good idea, and how in the name of GOD could anyone not notice the collar was growing into the neck. Can you imagine how tangled the poor dog's coat must be? Kill her horribly and painfully.
Now that I've gotten that out of my system, perhaps she is just . . . um, . . . profoundly unware of the needs of living things? She seems to think the dog is like a piece of furniture that you can just leave on one place when you are away. Maybe you can clue her into basic Dog Care 101, and if that seems too hard, it would be a good time to calmly and gently suggest surrendering the dog to rescue.

Not to mention the fact that the dog could end up with a septic infection if not treated. Report her, she has no business owning a dog .

Ann,
I too am surprised you didn't just chop her in half (I'm sure there is some martial art move that does that)....seriously though, and don't laugh, there is a lot of people out there, just like Brookes dopey goofball neighbours, who just think dogs are dogs...nothing more, nothing less...if they feed them once a day, they figure they're doing the thing (notice that word) a favour...yes, sad but true...even worse, there are a lot of people who treat thier kids like that too...what did we call them once at that other site, commodities -expendable...
It is a sad sad commentary on the state of our planet...suffice to say, this women you talked with today Ann should be pitied for her lack of concern, lack of consciousness and love for her dog....we could go on for hours on how we would like to tie her up and let her suffer the way her dog does but you know it wouldn't sink in. There is just too much cement between this womens ears(and hey, guys are included in this too) and I bet she figures she's doing right by her dog...isn't that just the funniest part...in her pee brain, she thinks she's doing a great job...here, tie the dog up outside in the elements for 20 hours a day...makes sense doesn't it.
Sure, unless you're the dog....wasting anymore time writing about this stupid women will just further upset me...I pity her and her worthless values. -Richard

If I wouldnt have been at work and the chance that flying body parts could have hit an elderly person I would have beaten her to a pulp She is over in Menominee County MI and yes they do have a shelter but there is no actual Humane Society. I would have to call the "Cat Drowners" and that would do no GOOD She is the same woman who let her other dog freeze to death last winter ( just found that out). One of her neighbors also works in the home and she is going to intercept the dog take it to the vet and then see if the breeder will take it back. She is leaving him run lose right now because she says putting a collar back on seems to bother him NO nuts . Even if they dont take him back she will keep him untill she finds a place for him. All is not lost. She lives way out in the county so if he shows up missing, if she even notices, it wont point a finger at anyone and WHO CARES IF IT DOES.

Finn had small holes all the way around his neck when I first took him in. I suspect he had been neck chained for long enough to outgrow it, and hurt himself pulling out of it, but was never really sure.
I'm glad someone is caring for the Sammy. I was going to suggest a dog napping.

We had a cruelty case here last year, the dog had an embedded PRONG collar . I've seen a lot in the way of abuse, and embedded collars are usually choke chains, but that was a first for me.
