Nope she has not said one word. She probably doesnt even know he is gone and if she does she certainly does not care.

I would guess the real concern is that this person goes out and gets another dog to replace the one she somehow hasn't missed in the backyard as yet....I'm sure she will someday....
Where do they come from....actually, Ann, she doesn't have kids does she?
And please don't tell me she has some super important job that requires her to pay attention to even the littlest of details....oh, that would be too funny...
I'm happy the other side of the equation worked out with the dog/vet/new life....some good has come out of this..
