I have thought about doing the atkins diet Ann myself but I just CAN'T bring myself to do it!!! I am a complete pasta feind! I'ts my downfall If it has carbs in it, it's my favorite food ....figures My cousin lost 40 lbs after having her first kid here last year by doing atkins....along with Winsor Pilates (which is awsome!) I love pilates! You sit on the floor the whole time and I'm not going to lie to you, it is very hard but the funny thing is you don't actually break a sweat doing it. ...very cool!! You only have to do it 20 minutes 3 times a week. They also have a 45 minute version you can do as well if you want some weeks. She lost 40 lbs in 2 1/2 months doing strict atkins and Pilates togther. Although it is hard...it's actually I found quite relaxing to do.

You go Ann! I have every bit of faith that you can do it! I need to shed some winter suet myself, but I am a carb junkie . You know the quote about man living on bread alone? No problem for me ;D! BTW, you know what your new hobby will be with the Atkins? Peeing .

You go girl! I know you can do it! It won't be easy always, I know, I've been there. I lost 25 watching calories and fat. I was hungry all the time for the first 2 weeks. After that it got better. And hey, if you don't have time to work out, just send Blade out and you can chase him down the neighborhood .

I love carbs and sugar and I have hypoglycamia too. Had a low blood sugar attack yesterday because I ate a sandwich for lunch and the bread is too many carbs. I do best with just meat, veg. salad, fruit, like you are eating, Ann, and can really lose weight if I don't cheat! I saw low carb whole wheat pasta in the store in Coleman yesterday. It said it was 80% lower in carbs than regular pasta. A serving has 18 grams of carbs. I thought that sounded like a lot, so went and looked at reg. pasta and it was 45 grams!! Of course it was double the price of reg. pasta, but I plan on getting some when I reeeeaaaaalllly want pasta and nothing else will do! ;D BTW...Ann, you gave me the incentive to get going on the modified Adkins again like you are on and I did really well yesterday until I came upstairs last night to watch *Cell Dogs* with a pkg. of Oreo's! I am hopeless, just hopeless!!!

Loey skip the oreo's and buy Pork Rinds. They are 100% carb free. Another thing to is to get the correct amount of carbs out of any food you must subtract the fiber percentage from the total carb percentage example if something says 18 grams of carbs and says 5 grams of fiber, that means there is only 13 grams of actual countable carbs. It's just like a diabetic diet only you are restricting more. I feel ok today a little light headed but I checked my waking blood sugar and I was at 85 so that is really good. I always want to keep it below 100 but it's best to keep between 85 and 95. The one thing that Beth said is about peeing I think I live in the bathroom now. Atkins also makes candy bars YEE HAW and they are only 2 grams of carbs. ;D

My cousin is on a bastardised form of Atkins, in that he tries to avoid carbs; only ate meat (and sweets) and only once in three weeks ate a vegtable.
I am a vegetarian, and virtually every meal I eat contains some carbs. When he came to visit, I ran through some menu ideas, and quickly worked out the there was NOTHING we would both eat, outside of ice cream!
We ate out a lot.

Yeah, I have bags of Aldi's pork rinds and Duane laughs, because if Kerra hears any paper bag crinkle she comes running from where ever she is! Have you ever tried putting your hand in a bag w/out touching it and making it crinkle? I can't and she can be in a dead sleep and on her feet instantly when she hears that bag!
