Oh Armywife, I am so sorry. How awful. Does your dogs have tags or a chip. Start calling the vets, shelters and rescues and you can put up flyers and an ad in the paper. I am praying that you find your baby!!

Oh, this is awful. I'm so sorry! Make sure you go and check the shelter's everyday in person. Don't rely on them to tell you over the phone if your dog is there or not!!!! From personal experience I know they often don't even check or don't know what the different breeds even look like!!!! There have been instances when people called, were told their dog was not there, but when they went in and checked they sure enuf were there and had been there at the time they called!!!!
Like Nicki said too....put an ad in the paper immediately. some people don't put *found* ad's in, eventhough they are (or were) free. They wait for the owner to place a *lost* ad and if none appears they either keep the dog or take it to a shelter.
Poster's are good too, because if someone has her and wants to keep her, the neighbor's will see your poster and may call you and tell you their neighbor just got a dog that may be yours (esp. if they don't like the neighbor or dogs) ;D or if they inquire of the person who has her, they may get nervous and decide it isn't worth it to keep her and call you.
Something else you can do is find out if there is a Boxer Rescue in your area/town and call them to help you. Most rescue's will go and help people who have lost dogs of the breed they rescue.

Amber!! I'm sooooo sorry!!! Thats terrible! DEFINATELY put an ad up and put up pictures/posters all over the area. I had a cat once that got lost and we went weeks without hearing something. A lady finally called and said that she knew the guy who found him and took him in. She said he knew that people were looking for him but had no intention of giving him back. She gave us the number to his work. My family called him and I even called him myself crying because I wanted my cat back (I was only like 8). I remember his name was Kim. He told me on the phone after they transfered the call to him that they thought we said Tim...everytime we called. He finally gave him up after we continued to call "Kim" getting the same guy everytime. Posters with big pictures and newspaper ads...definately....even at your local pet stores. People go in all the time with their dogs. (Especially if they are new in the home and need stuff.) I hope you find her soon. Make sure you call the shelters and animal control. Even take in a picture of her so that they know you are looking for her if she happens to come in.

armywife,
Right now, you need to do as the others have said...get busy and get your dog back...you will find her..stay positive....
When you get her home, just make sure you take steps to ensure she doesn't get out again....

Ahh that sucks....I was hoping you'd have her back in your arms by now....
Did you do the pictures on the mail boxes, post office, telephone poles, newspapers thing? Any word from the local animal shelter....did she have tags or a chip?
Don't give up hope...

That is really a good thought Nicki about contacting all the local veterinarian clinics.
I talked to Amber the other night. She said that she found her dogs collar still tied to the leash so she either pulled out of it which is a huge possiblity or maybe someone did take her?? The good thing is that Hailee was microchipped so I think contacting all the veterinarians in the area may be a good idea. They might even be able to go over recent new customers with boxers?? I really hope you find her Amber....
