Hang in there Laura, the first nine years are the hardest. Yes, another ex-smoker. It helps me to think of myself as a smoker who chooses not to smoke.

You guys are sooooo funny!!! Brooke, that was a good one!!! Laura, it was Ann who said oatmeal stops cravings. I am a sugaraholic, so the oatmeal cookies thing sounds good to me!!!! I know I have to stop it though, because diabetes runs in my family and while I used to have low blood sugar, the last few times I had blood work done, my fasting blood sugar was up over 100 and that has me worried! It always used to be 70 or 80!!! The water thing does help with sugar cravings. Drinking 8-10 8 oz. glasses of water a day with 1/2 tsp. of sea salt in it.

My mom was terrible with the homeopathic stuff. My mom and my grandma both. Everytime I got sick she'd chase me around the house with salt water and garlic. She got a clove stuck in my brothers ear once She's a tard.

Did your mom wash the clove out of his ear with salt water? My mom used to put warm veg. oil in ours for earache, and it did work! I have even seen where regular Dr's recommend it if you can't get to a Dr. right away. I never heard of cloves though. Hmmmmm, that's a new one on me. ;D

Luckily I can't say that for my mom but my grandmother used to blow ciggarette smoke in our ears when we had ear aches. For sore throats she used to get lemons and stick candy cane sticks in them and we used to suck on them till a hole formed through the center like a straw. It was actually pretty good and it helped.
