I agree, that does sound like a more plausible scenario...if she double-talks as much as you say she does and is in financial doo-doo, then selling them off would be a very good option to her.
It is better than what she told you but nevertheless, doesn't excuse the actions she took.....not one little bit at all.
All I can say is BITE HARD when you get her!!!!

Jesus, Ann, I'm so sorry, your heart must be broken over this . Breeding a 22 year old mare? Was she out of her mind ? Negligent at best, criminal at worst, I hope you nail her .

Well Sue just called me, and it was a very interesting conversation. When she got up there the herd was just mulling aroung in the feild she talked a bit with her and then "Whistled the Whistle" (my horses always came to a special whistle). When no body showed she did it again. Nothing. Well if these horses were in that field they would have come. She asked her where they were and Kelly said "Oh well I don't know how to tell you this they died" then she went into the same story she told me. Well that did not fly with her, she kept at her and even lied by saying she knew that they were alive and if she knew what was good for her she would tell her where they were. Right as this was going on Kelly's soon to be ex husband came out and said "Tell her the truth eveyone is sick of your lies" well they argued and finally it boils down to this. My horses are alive and somewhere in Green Bay. When my lawyer gets back next week we will have this taken care of. I am calling her husband this evening, he and I are still on good terms I feel bad for him because she has turned into such a #$%#@ . I feel better that they are alive but I want to know where and get them back so they can live out the rest of their lives with my friend Sue. She would have taken them to begin with but she did not have the room and that is why I had the contract drawn up with Sue being like a partner and having equal say and rights to the horses. No amount of money can replace these animals. I can also trace them through the Arabian Horse Registry, but we will find them. My horses are tattoo'ed and I still have copies of their papers attached to the contract so not all is lost yet. Keep your fingers crossed guys next week will be VERY INTERESTING

That is such a relief, but still unforgiveable what she did.

Yup, that is good news indeed as the others said but she's still lower than a snails belly for what she did....
To be honest, I don't think she's right in the head based on what you've relayed about her so far.
Go get your horses back.....

Well I got in touch with Dan last night. This poor man I feel so bad for him. He told me that he will do what ever he can to help. He kept apoligizing for Kelly and I told him to STOP. He had no controll over what she does. The reason she is divorcing him is because, at least this is what he told me, he does not make enough money driving truck to suit her needs, and he also found religion. The man goes out on the road for weeks at a time doing some very dangerous hauls with chemicals etc... just to provide for their kids and horses. He is a god fearing man, great father and the only comfort he could get when she started losing her mind was in his church. OH HE SOUNDS JUST AWFUL DOESNT HE. Dan told me that he has no idea who she sold them to but he will find out. You have to remember Wiscosin is a Marital Property State so once the divorce action started she had no right to start liquidating their property without his permission, so he to is contacting his lawyer and she is going to get it from both sides. He had no idea they were even gone untill a few days before and then she never told him the awful game she played with me. He said he will also be contacting some animal rights groups to get her shut down. I told him to be careful because that can blow up in your face, and he does not care. He did tell me thought that she had bred Ansari against the vets advice and she gave birth early last spring, the foal only lived for 2 weeks because she did not take the proper steps to ensure it's developement. THAT REALLY MADE ME MAD

Hi Ann,
This is good news (well sorta).
Just get your horses back, get them someplace safe and checked out by a vet (ok, I'm no horse person, but since they've been out of that whack-jobs sight, I'd want to make sure they were healthy) and then start some sort of legal action against her if you and your lawyer deem it necessary.
I think the only other thing I would want you to consider is that you can't get blood from a stone...in otherwords, she's obviuosly mentally ill, incapable of handling her farm, her affairs and will soon be going through the legal system for a divorce...I don't think there will be much left to get from her.
I am not taking the "soft" approach here, but with the way things are going, as long as you get your two horses back and placed where they will be taken care of, that is all you really want from this whole crappy experience. I dont' know the timeline of the other stuff she has going, but I am sure as hell sure that it will all go down the toliet for her very shortly...you really won't have to take any action cuz she'll be "self-imploding"....
But then again, maybe it's just me; if she was some rich, snotty, self-centred bitch who crapped on people, screwed them over, and showed no remorse for her actions, then I'd say go for the throat but in this case, she sounds like she needs to spend some time in a mental facility instead...if her husband is smart, he'll take the kids, sell the farm and get the hell outta Dodge ASAP!
Does that make sense?

Yes Richard this makes alot of sense and is where my mind is at. As long as the horses can be found and put where they belong I will be happy. I will also offer my assistance to Dan when he trys to get coustady of his kids. I have enough horror stories to tell about her parenting skills that I don't think any judge would allow her to be sole coustodian of a child much less animals. I am letting my friend Sue handle the leagal aspects of this because let's face it I do not have the financial means to take this where it needs to go. She has offered to do it and work with the attorney along with me and provide all of the finances. I helped her out when she needed it so as much as I do not like taking charity so to speak, she said this was just repayment for what I did for her. She really is a true friend and I know Ansari and Bo will have a very happy life with her even if she doesnt ride them they will be spoiled and loved just as they were when they lived with me. I will keep you guys posted as the DRAMA continues.

wow! Whata loada crap! I'm glad to hear your horses are still alive. Who knows, they may be in very good hands. If she sold them for enough money then perhaps they went to very good homes. Keep us informed!

Well the game is in play. I called my lawyer and he and Sue are working on this. He will be contacting Kelly to make her understand that she breached the contract, and she must tell us who the people were that bought the horses. So it's a waiting game right now. Time will tell.

Well still no news as to where they are and I have pretty much given up hope. My feelings are this, if they have gone to someone who really is going to care for them well then I have no problem with it. They deserve the best in their senior years and I just pray that is what they are getting. Kelly will be forced to devulge the information at a pre-trial for her divorce and that is when MAYBE we will have some news. The trial is set for JUNE. She must explain to the court why she went against the order and sold joint property. Hope she has a good story.
