In just a few weeks, Cody has gone from cute and cuddly to awkward and lanky. He's going through what I call the 'cone head' phase. His ears are up, but because his ears are bigger than his skull and because he doesn't have control of them yet, they tend to meet in the middle. I did not pose the hedgehog, Cody did that. His face is already looking wise and noble. He's developed an adult face. With a little practice, he has nailed the sheppy "huh?" look. He is still super friendly, but as he grows, fewer people are rushing up to pet the cute puppy. ;D I took him to the local farmers market last weekend. At first I didn't want to spend the time, but then I thought that the socialising opportunity was too good to miss. He was really good, seemed to enjoy the crowds, and he got lots of attention. When I stopped to purchase a few things, he just sat quietly. He just took it all in and dealt with it. In the photos, Cody is at the site of my new dog daycare center, opening soon. Opening a business and raising a puppy are mutually exclusive projects. I could write a book on things that hard to do while raising a puppy: sleep, relax, clean, watch tv . . .

He's a handsome lad that's for sure. I think that 'huh' look is in a GSD's DNA wherever they are in the world!! Best of luck with the Dog Daycare business!

His coat has gone from mostly tan to mostly black, and is now morphing back to tan again. Sables are so much fun. It's always a lucky dip as to what the adult will look like. I've been hoping for a brown sable like dad, but it's looking like he might be grey sable like mom. Ears are fitting the head better these days. His ears are going down occasionally because I think he's teething. He still has a really nice, mature looking head. Vocalising is still over the top. In addition to barking, he has an impressive range of whines, moans, grumbles, screams, hums and whimpers. First obedience class is Tuesday. God help us. He is smart enough to make me look really stupid.

Oh my....what a difference a few weeks makes eh? He's looking great. I'm sure you'll both have fun at the OB class - you'll be giving him direction and he'll be giving you his [vocal] opinion on everything!

Man! He is so stinkin' cute!! Peeka's ears used to lay on top of her head. Well... one of them did. She was all lopsided for awhile. ;D I miss her!

Boy.....There is nothing more soothing than looking at pictures of puupies. I find that puppies can get me out of myself for a while and take me away from the everydy stresses of life.
Cody is a cutie!
