Some breeds are more suited to competition level agility than others. Hounds as group can do agility for fun, but hound breeds like Ridgebacks do not often (dare I say never?) show up at the elite levels.
I know a couple of whippets and an Afghan that think running around like idiots is great fun, but their owners would never attempt to push them into the conformity of trialing. Or, as someone told me once, "If you're serious about competing, get a working dog.
