Last night I talked to my friend who is totally into Agility, has trialed two border collies (one that's not hers and she's got her new BC Pup, Zen, who she's just training still. Well she says her and a bunch of people will be doing Agility in the park on Tuesday and Coal and I are welcome to come. So we go and man, Coal did so good! Well, he did what I expected and a little more ;D His first time on the dog walk, it was set at 2 feet though, but he did it like a piece of cake, he said "hey, give me somethin harder this is EEEEEASEEEE!" I just wanted to take it easy a bit though, there was aboooooout... 6 dogs there, 7 including Coal and 4 other people, so that's very exciting for Coaly I was able to get him to do some jumps, two tunnels (mine and Mandi's) the tire, and dog walk, and he TRIED The A-Frame without permision I don't wana get him on that yet, and it was set too high for him, and he saw other dogs go so firgured why not? I was walking by it, him at a heal and he ran over and jumped on it and gave me a shock so I pulled him off I just laughed cuz it was Zen's first time going on the A-Frame tonight and Mandi and three other people spent some time trying to get her to go on it and here's Coal doing it without anyone asking
He cried and cried and CRIED and lunged and cried when other dogs were running the course or had the ball that Jessie (Border Collie) had stoll from the tenis court He REALLY needs to learn to wait his turn haha. Every time Mandi threw the ball for one of her dogs Coal would freak out and she'd go "Oh I'm so sorry Coal! I forgot!" and I told her "DON'T be sorry! He NEEDS this" ;D I'd love to get him out around other dogs like that more often so he learns that if another dog is playing, HE doesn't need to get in on it too
Oh I just WISH I had Mandi's obsticals though! We only have a tunnel, a teeter, and a tire right now! And jumps made out of lawn chairs and broom sticks So it was really nice to get out and show Coal what a REAL course looks like and get him to try a new obstical!
Ah, I just LOVE Agility!
I know there's a few others, but just how many other Agility adicts are out there? ;D
