Well I have just about had it with loose dogs in my neighborhood and today took the cake . I had Blade on his pulley away from the fence and Willow was in her x-pen, while I was out doing some yard work. All of a sudden I hear Willow barking like a mad dog, I came around the side of the house to see a Red and White Sibe going right for Blade . I started hooting and yelling, picked up the shovel while running towards them, but not quite fast enough, because they started fighting, I grabbed the hose and started spraying Well it took awhile but the other dog backed off. Blade was pretty P$$ED OFF, but he backed off too. This is not a sight for the weak, when husky's fight, it's like the Highlander "There can only be just one" left standing that is. Well I called AC and of course they offer you no help. The idiots told me to catch him if he came back "OH OK" I will just do your job for you and get my arm ripped off in the process I was so worried about Blade because he is still regaining strength and this was not something I wanted to comprimise the situation. He was fine untill the dog came at him, but this was a fully intact male (I saw that as he was leaving)hell bent on having a dog fight. I just do not understand why people leave their dogs run loose WHY? No significant injury to report, just a small amount of hair loss, a couple of scrapes but nothing major. You know it amazes me that all the times Blade was attacked by other dogs he still only wants to play and will never be the agressor. I guess I can be thankful for that because this could have been worse than what it was. IDIOTS

This makes me so angry too! I am not surprised that Blade does not turn aggressive, Ann. Both of my Huskies were like that. They would never, ever pick a fight, but let me tell you...if another dog attacked them, it was all over in a minute and the other dog got the worse of it! My huskies fought like no other dog I have seen. They would turn their butts to the other dog and when the other dog grabbed the thick hair on their flanks, they would turn like lightening and have the other dog by the throat! The one and only time I ever encouraged any of my dogs to fight was out in Mt. There was a friend of a friend who would come camping with all of us. He had a Blue Heeler and he would actually encourage his dog to fight other dogs and to kill cats! He would brag that there was no other dog who could "take" Blue. One time some kids came by with a kitten they were looking for a home for and this idiot took the kitten from them. At first we all thought, "how nice", but then he told us he was going to let "Blue" kill it! I have never seen my husband so angry and we ended up with a kitten! ;D Anyway, we were all camping and I kept my young Huskie, "Keno" tied. Blue would be loose and would come over and attack Keno. Of course, being tied Keno would be at a disadvantage and Dan refused to tie Blue or watch him, so finally Duane told me to "turn Keno loose". He never instigated a fight, but when Blue would attack him, he would fight back, and Blue would end up pinned to the ground and bloody, yelling, "Uncle", while Keno wouldn't have a scratch! We hated to do it, but there is just no other way to get through to some people! That was the end of Dan's bragging up his dog!

I know exactly what you mean about them not fighting like any other dog, and especially when it is two Sibes going at it. I watched Blade take on that loose Pitt, which I know he remembered from when he was a young pup, it made me sick to watch what this dog is cabable of. You are right they turn that fluffy butt in the other dogs face and then WHAM right for the throat. I am just glad he is not effected by this. I know if that other dog would have chilled himself Blade would have let it go and wanted to play. What a forgiving nature this breed has

But my two cents is that most places city AC is useless. SPCA is a deff story, however, legally in my area that can not do a thing if this occurs in the city. (We had a cat give birth in a car here, we called AC @ 11am, 5pm they called us back asking what we needed...)
Ive only had dogs I know both of fight...We dont have many "stray" dogs around here. Usually its local dogs that got lose and we know the owner.
Willow you had a dog named Keno?

Yes, Fireworks, I had a beautiful Sibe named, "Keno". The reason he was named that is because when I brought him home as a puppy, my oldest boy looked at him and said, "Keeno!" That's what they said then, instead of "keen" like I did when young! ;D
