I promised not to talk about a certain person and their child with the guide dog but this put me over the edge. There is only one other person in our town that has a guide dog. She is a woman with CP, and is leagally blind. Her dog is the most wonderful creature I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I met her in Wal Mart yesterday, and because I have helped her several times with access problems before we are what I would call friends. She told me that 2 weeks ago during a school program she had attended, the police came and took her dog away for 2 hours I said WHY evedently a certain childs mother told them that she was abusing her dog This is a bunch of crap. After getting in touch with her attorney (my neighbor) the dog was returned and charges were dropped. She has NEVER abused this dog EVER. Because of he CP sometimes the jerking movements appear to be jerking his collar or harness but that is part of why she needs the dog, for mobility. This woman told the cops that because there were police dogs at the function and because her child was there with his guide dog, they should take hers away because if she did not like the way people were acting she would take it out on the dog I guess now this nutcase feels that her kid is the only one allowed to use a dog in public, and the reason for that being she knows that her sons dog would not behave itself if there was another dog in the near vacinity. Since this was an awards ceremony all about her kid she made up this crazy story to have the cops take away this womans dog The poor dog was a mess by the time they got him back because to be pulled away from the handler in that situation, put him under great stress. She has had this dog for 5 years and he is the best example of a what he was intended for. I am so fricking pissed that she would go this far to keep all the attention on her kid and to mask the problems that his dog has I could just rip her face off. She has an adovcate comming in from Leader Dogs for the Blind and I think some heads are going to roll. You can not deny access on the premiss of what might happen. I denyed access to him and his dog because of what did happen. She is pushing me
