Hahaha yeah...Kuma is with me and YES Peeka will be NOT enjoying her BIG DOGGIE BOOTCAMP when she gets home...
LONG STORY....(since I'm in temper temper already I'll go ahead and explain)
I came back to Indiana for the banking job 13 hours and they made me think I had it in the bag even after I got here and interviewed. They told me it was a "customer service" position (which I have 4 years of experience in working that position with a bank). They made me fill out an approval for them to do a credit and background check (which I passed with flying colors). I spent a MONTH calling them following up and they kept telling me that they were still waiting on my credit and background checks. They kept telling me "we WILL call you".
FINALLY after the boss went out of town I ended up getting a hold of the assistant manager and SHE told me that it was ACTUALLY a TELLER position (news to me) and (which I have never had experience in) and that they ended up having an applicant come in and apply for after me and they made an offer that they accepted....talk about POed!
It took everything in me not to go off on her for not calling me to let me know. I took them a thank you letter and everything...dressed to the nines drove all that way and gave a hell of an interview and they made it seem like it was mine already before I even left the interview...that they just had the bkg & credit check to do...and why would they even bother if they weren't interested so I thought...? So I thought it was mine I had nothing to worry about... GRRRRRRRRRR!!!
I drove 13 hours there FOR THAT JOB specifically (thats all I keep saying) which they knew and made me think I had in the bag and didn't even have the decency to call me and tell me they were going with someone else... I don't have an issue with the fact someone better qualifed got picked...I can completely understand that. It's just the fact that they didn't even call me after all of that is what ticks me off.
So here I am jobless and searching spastically for a job and Shen will be home "in about 3 months" (or so they say...or I should say they've been saying since SEPTEMBER.) It looks promising now that he WILL be home that soon though. They are sending him to Walter Reed for a big overview check up for EVERYTHINg and they are mid way through the Medical Board now. Finally...it only took 9 freakin months for them to get a start on it!
OH and he is STILL on the Fentenyl patches (which are 1000 times stronger than moraphine) 75mgs and no plan to lower yet.
To make matters worse Shens mom said that he could not bring Peeka to live with her while he stays there which is opposite of what she had said before. That she could stay there with Shen temporarily till we get on our feet. So there goes that. Said that she can't take that she's such a "busy body". Not hyper just doesn't like to sit still, always prancing around and it drives her nuts. Forget the fact that his mom refuses to crate her or keep her on a leash. ABSOULTELY REFUSES. In fact she said he'd have to "get rid of her" which is absolutely out of the question of course.
So I am on a DESPARATE search for a job so that I can afford a place to live. My grandma said Kuma was all the dog she could handle. Taking another dog in is out of the question. Kuma is no work at all. Peeka is a basket case so I can't blame her. Grandma doesn't have a fenced yard nor does Shen's mom. My mom has a kid she watches who is allergic to dogs so she can't help us out either. The people left their last babysitter because they got a dog. Thats why I couldn't stay with her in the first place. We are pretty much up the creek right now.
Man when life throws you a curve it throws you ten million at once I SWEAR! As if we don't have enough stress already!
Well...TONIGHT I went to my friends house who works at the bank and she said the girl that they hired over me never even showed up...so I'm getting the last laugh right now. That felt good. Apparently they have been asking questions about me again. They have had the job open since October!!! I guess because they are SOOO picky. AND not only that but they just had a girl quit last week so not only have they been trying to fill one position, now they have TWO to fill.
I guess their ONLY gripe about me was that I didn't make a whole lot of eye contact. They said I was really confident other than that...I had a great interview.. they liked what I had to say but they thought that it was just because I didn't have a lot of face to face experience since I worked at a call center for 4 years. Amy (my friend) really stuck up for me though. She explained that yeah that was probably a lot of it...that when you work in front of a computer for that long you get into that habit of looking around while you talk..which I really did and I don't realize it.
She also explained that not only that but when you think about it I worked at Wells Fargo for 4 years doing that but I also haven't had a job in over a year as well so it's been awhile almost 5 years since I've really interviewed for a job and she could see why I'd be a little nervous. They actually understood that...
Amy's really put in a lot of good words about me. Even told them that I watch her kids ALLLL the time. (I love her kids which doesn't happen often because I'm burnt out on the whole kid thing with my moms daycare). So I thought that was good that she mentioned that. They know she trusts me enough to leave her kids with me regularly and she really talked me up. Told them that I'm not afriad to ask questions if I'm not sure about something but I catch on real fast... She's a great friend.
;D
She said that the manager and the assistant manager REALLY liked me A LOT but it was the HR woman who was bugged by the eye contact thing (which I didn't even realize) and if they don't agree even just a little teeny bit they kinda tend to blow it off...hence the job hasn't been filled since OCTOBER. I guess cause they are a new bank and don't have a strong training program so they want people with experience. I guess they'd rather be short the staff for a rediculous amount of time than to take the time to train
But I guess I'm being considered again. Not a bad thing...
Anyway...I have a two interviews with other companies this week. Lincoln National Bank and Centennial wireless. Hopefully something will come of this. The job with Lincoln pays REALLY good the only thing is my aunt works there and they have been downsizing for years. I guess the plan is to phase out the indiana center all together and put all their market east so that really worries me because I don't want to get laid off... mostly because I FOUND THIS AMAZING HOUSE!!!!!!!!
I'm freaking out because there is this house that I found through well...my friend Amy and her husband who is also just as much my friend. The whole house is old but COMPLETELY brand new...re-done...completely...everything haha, in this perfect area. The only thing is I'd have to fence in the back yard in the back and front but there are side fences already up. They ended up building another house so they have been paying double mortgages since October and they are dying to get rid of it so they are selling for an amazing price. It was appraised for $102k and they are willing to sell for $80k. I am SO DROOLING! It would be such an awsome starter house. They have it set up they are willing to pay down payment and ALL closing costs all I'd have to do is pass the credit check and I can process and move in. I figured with a deal like this I can't take a loss in the end...
I figure this way I won't be throwing money away on rent and my dogs will have a great yard to run in. I can do whatever I want to the house.
AHHHHHHHHHH! If I could just get one of these JOBS!
