I thought I would start a new thread just for fun to share funny or strange encounters that your dog has had with people. Here is mine. We were walking along minding our own business when all of a sudden this man comes at us with a deranged look on his face flailing his arms at us wildly. I thought we were going to be attacked and so did Reign. Reign started growling and I gave the guy a look that said if you don't get lost I am going to let my dog off his leash. The guy, still with arms thrashing about, starts trying to say something and then I finally understood him. He was saying no, no, I am not trying to hurt you, a huge bee flew down my shirt. ;D ;D ;D I burst out laughing and Reign stopped growling and I didn't know what to do for the poor guy. I didn't want to go near him with the dog at this point so we just walked away. Reign did not take his eyes off the guy until he was out of sight. And, on a more serious note, it goes to show how dogs respond to our reaction. When I was alarmed, so was Reign. When I started laughing, he instantly calmed down.

Kuma has been a VERY socialized dog from the get go. I lived in a house with 5 room mates and we had 3 dogs till she was at least 6 months old. There have only been two occurances where Kuma has ever growled at someone. One of my room mates brought over a new friend. He became a regular at the house but for some reason Kuma just did not like him. I have no idea what it was. He seemed like a really nice guy but I was leary of him just because she didn't like him for some reason. She didn't ever want to be anywhere around him. He felt so bad every time she growled at him. He'd just kind of look at her and get this look on his face like amazed "why don't you like me!" I felt bad for him but kept my distance... Another time I was walking out late at night to get our mail. Our mailbox is right along the street so I took both dogs with me. Kuma was off leash and Peeka was on. I got to the mailbox and this guy drives past me and down about maybe 20 feet or so and stops his car. I'm opening the mailbox grabbing the mail and the guy gets out of his car leaves the door open and starts to jog up to me. Kuma growling like crazy half barking and takes off running after him and he turns around high tails it back to his car. Peeka is barkin like crazy. I'm calling Kuma back he drives off and Kuma is on her way back. I ran back inside with both of them. I never in ten million years would have though Kuma would have done that. Not her.....little miss submissive... Peeka, the first day we got her I had her sitting on my lap while I was on the couch. (Its so hard not to do that the first day) She was looking around and she just took off and jumped off my lap completely without warning and hit her head right on the coffee table. I think she was diving for a cup. You probably had to be there. It was the first of many hits on the noggen for that girl. She has a head like a rock. OH! Another time... Peeka was dog aggressive as a pup. After Shen went to Iraq we went back to Indiana. The first night back at my moms house I took Peeka upstairs to show her which room we'd be staying in. I got her to go up the stairs by herself for the first time. At the ends of the hall each way there are full length mirrors. She turned the corner and charged the mirror barking and slammed face first right into it. It was so funny. She got the point...we have no more issues with the mirror. Luckily after some work, no more issues with other dogs either..

When I was getting married the UPS guy came every day for like a month before the wedding delivering gifts and stuff... Elvis was a much different dog then - and I was a much different owner. He was bad bad bad... Anyway I had the door open only partially and was signing for my package when Elvis took a flying leap over my SHOULDER and charged the UPS guy. The poor guy- I never saw anybody run so fast ! He got away with out incident - it was upetting then...but kinda funny now - it makes me feel pretty bad though to think about it because I was one of those clueless dog owners with WAAAY more dog than I could handle

When Kacy was about a year old we took her for a walk on a near-by biking, jogging, walking trail. We were almost back to our car after about 3 miles (up and back) when a woman jogged by (about the 100th jogger we'd seen so far...) and suddenly Kacy decided to jump on her but she had her leash on. She did a marvelous double flip with a half gainer Lost points on the landing when she fell on her butt. No gowls, no aggression, just "lets go". The woman had to stop running 'cause she was laughing so hard
