I wouldn't put anyone down for being one Just not an area I would use. I couldn't tell you about past lives, or that they were still upset at their owners for not bringing home the doggy bag with the prime rib in it when they got chop suey instead definetly an area out of my league.... To add personal experience when my friend got a reading at a dog show with her Manchester, I tuned out when the lady said she wants to see mountains... Ill stick to the basics in body lanquage to understand them...

In my opinion so-called Pet Pychics are no better than snake oil salesmen.

I agree...I wouldn't hire one if I had a dog who had 'strange behaviour' that I would like to learn about. It seems they all have answers like "He loves you, but isn't positive if you love him." Or something like that, while those poor dogs just sit there wondering when they're going to leave. ;D

I think I'll become a Pet Psychic Psychic. I'll read the minds of Pet Psychics. "He's thinking that he might be able to get you to pay him a lot of money. Also, he's picturing a red bouncy ball."

I think most people who have worked with a lot of dogs (or horses, cats, cows, ferrets, whatever) learn to "read" body language, demeanor, and expression; and so can interpret the signs better than people who are not experienced with animals.
And some people appear to have some level of understanding of things that are not seen and not known to the conscience mind- call it psychic ability if you want. So it wouldn't be impossible to put the two together.
A commercial person would put an emotional spin on it, put a show around heart tugging, add a few good guesses and tell the owners what they want to hear. Be right 2 or 3 times out of ten and that's what people remember, not the 7 or 8 that were off the mark.
I have seen two different people 'work' with clients, one horse, one dog, and I didn't think they were worth paying for. Both were just a con job.
There maybe a few people who actually have extraordinary skills in animal communication, but finding them would be hard. As a whole these guys are nothing but charlatans. I can't see myself paying for such a service or acting with any certainty on something I was told.

I agree with everyones posts here. However I find it difficult to dismiss the idea entirely. I personally have experienced MANY psychic occurances. (human) I have also audited while a few sessions were done on a few horses at our boarding facility. One horse attacked a rider, slammed him to the ground and continued to try to kill the preditor. Believe it or not the "psychic" determined the horse was actually experiencing double vision due to a head trauma. A training program was set up with the horses handler. The horse currently is owned by a 13 yo boy, and is one of the top hunter horses in AZ. Most common questions people ask are what is his favorite color? What does color mean? I feel animals IF they are able to communicate in that capacity do not comprehend questions of that nature and communicate through images, or familiararities ie a yellow leash, blue bowl. Or the image of being drowned in a hole they dug. lol one communicator actually went as far to say the horse had a certain "voice" or he was a joker. I think that is a little out there. However I do believe and have experienced a "connection" that is attainable beyond reading an animals body language.

I don't personally think that pet communicators can truly have 'conversations' with dogs.
However, I do believe that people can communicate with animals. I used to be able to do the exact same thing with Shiner, GWP, that you did with Sage and the hole.. I could just look at her, and somehow she understood what I was thinking.. Several times, when I'd be thinking of going for a walk (without even saying a word about it) Shiner would retrieve her leash and drop it at my feet. If she walked over, stuck her head in my lap, and stared at me, I knew what she wanted. I didn't hear her "voice" telling me, I just had a very close connection with her. We'd grown up together, being with someone or something, 24/7 for 9-10 years, it's hard not to know them well, and understand them well.
So, no, I don't think there are pet "psychics" that talk in complete sentences to animals, but I do think there are people who understand animals and connect with animals better than others. For example, I have a friend in Idaho who is absolutely wonderful with dogs.. He doesn't have to do anything to earn their respect or friendship. He is Ripley's all-time favorite person, and I don't think he has ever done anything more than given Ripley a quick pet when he comes and goes. Ripley obeys his every command, as does Dakota, and as did Shiner. No, he's not psychic, but he does have a very deep, unusual connection with dogs.

Interesting topic. I can't dismiss it because I don't know for sure. I do believe that if some of them are for real, the other 98% are crooks. But really, Your relationship is between you and your animal. I think that we are all capable of communicating on deeper levels, if we take the time to pay attention. If you really are present with your friend he will tell you lots of things you miss if your head is somewhere else. Many people are impressed by someone stating that they have powers that you don't have. Hang on to your wallet.
