I was surprised Aussie, when you said a dog should be wormed every 3 months, because I hardly ever have to worm my dogs. Is the reason you have to worm so often because you live in Australia?
As I said before, I watch the temp. and only give HW if the temp stays above 57 for two weeks straight, which in our northern climate, has only been once this summer and maybe twice last summer, but since HW preventative also takes care of round, whip and hook, and since I started raw feeding, they have never tested positive for those worms when I take them in once a yr. for their HW test.

Yes, there is a particularly resistant form of round worm here. The heartworm preventions don't knock it down, and many heartworm preventatives sold here only do heartworm, not general wormers.
Since I feed raw, I've never seen a sign of worms in either dog, so personally I don't use general wormers. But it's standard advice for dogs and cats that are kibble fed.
