Hi - I am suspecting that my Anastasia has kennel cough. We have been warned at our dog club that there is currently an epidemic of it going around, and that many people at the club have had their dogs come down with it. She has been acting a bit differently (I posted a thread on her suddenly becoming scared in the car - I dont know if that has anything to do with it?) and this morning she is sticking to me like a burr, shivering and coughing a bit.
What I want to know is this -
I cannot find a vet that is open until Monday (It is Saturday morning on this side of the world). How serious is this? Can I put it off till monday taking her? Is there anything I can do for her already? Is it neccesary to take her to a vet, or is it something like a cold, that will pass away by itself?
Thanks Masha

Masha the shivering and sudden change in behavior (clinging to you) is very concerning to me. The shivering can be an indication of fever. I personally would try to get to a vet today somehow. There is also a dog flu that is going around and it mimics kennel cough but is far more serious and just as contagious. If it was just the cough I might say Monday was OK, but the shivering and clinging alarms me.
