I was feeding Karma some pretty crap food for a few months (Dog Chow Little Bites. I'm almost ashamed to admit I fed her the equivalent of Doggie McDonalds, but I was really lacking a choice) only because it was the only thing I could find that didn't make her incredibly sick. If I fed her anything else, you could hear the acid churning in her stomach, and then she'd have really horrible diarrhea and vomit bile. It wasn't pretty.
So after her stomach seemed settled for a while - as in she hasn't had an episode in months - I figured maybe I could try putting her on some slightly better food. So I went down to the store and bought Nutro. I mixed one bag nutro with 2 bags dog chow in a big tub so that she would only get a teeny bit of the nutro each day... trying to do this as slowly as possible.
Well, once it was in her bowl, she was picking out the old food and only eating the Nutro. Which, ya know, I'm glad she liked it, but I was worried that she wasn't getting a mix of the two. Everything was going well for the past week or so, until just now while she's laying on the floor next to me and I can hear the acid starting to churn in her stomach.
I've taken her to the doctors for this and they seem as confused as I am. No one can figure out what she's allergic to, or if she just has a sensitive stomach. We've tried different foods, no beef, no lamb, no chicken (at different times)... I'm just at a loss here. And the only one I've found that doesnt make her sick is the Dog Chow Little Bites.
Does this mean I have to feed her crap food forever?
