Does anyone have any recipes for homemade doggie treats?? I'm looking to make my girls some healthy treats, grain free. We have a food dehydrator if need be. My mom and I make great jerky with it but I'm not sure how to prepare jerky treats for the dogs. If you have any ideas or recipes to share please let me know! My girls will love you forever!
Thanks in advance! ;D

Put chicken hearts in your dehydrator. BIG favorite around here! No special prep required just stick 'em in there till dry.

I would think "human grade" jerkey would be good enough, but I could be wrong.

We buy the packs of gizzards and hearts and do those in the dehydrator. I do 3 packs at a time and store them into the freezer until I am ready to use them. I also freeze "piles" of liver to make liverciccles which the dogs loves. The final thing I do is when I am making stocks (chicken, beef or fish) I save a portion before I add the salt and seasonings to it, water it down by 1:1 or 1:2 and freeze it in ice cube trays. These make great treats for hot days.

Make sure there is not salt or seasonings in the broth which are common in the store broth varities. These can causes tummy upset and loose stools. I make it from scratch by basically "stewing" a roast, whole chicken, or fish parts in water overnight. I do not add anything to it when preparing it for the dogs.
