My 4 year old american bulldog started throwing up late last night, around 2 am. Then every couple hours kept throwing up bile. I can't get her to eat or drink anything. I have tried all her favorite foods. She just threw up again, at about 1 pm, so its been about 11 hours. Should I take her to the vet or something or let it pass?

To the vet ASAP! Vomiting that much is a sign that the dog may have some kind of obstruction. Does she have a toy she could have chewed up and swallowed? OR something in the house or outside. If so, she's going to need surgery to get it out! I've seen it a lot of times.
It could also be some kind of infection. But either way, you need to go to the vet NOW! Good luck.

No there aren't any toys she could have eaten. I did give her one of those "greenies" for the first time a couple days ago. But, I just changed her food, plus I gave her some strange food on the 4th of july, like part of a spicy hotdog, and also a bit of pistachio ice cream (I know thats bad but it was a special occasion). Well she hasn't barfed in like 3 hours, so if she does it one more time I will go to the vet.

I vote vet.
Animals throwing up for no apparent reason is A Bad Thing (tm). Zoe's hurled twice and each time there was a clear cut reason: 1) Ate the deicing salt (supposedly safe). I called the vet and they told me as long as she throws up, she'll be fine and 2) when I took her for a walk on a hot day and could NOT get water in her during the walk because she was afraid of the water bottle.
If your baby is throwing up for no apparent reason and won't eat, it's a DAMN good chance there is an obstruction!

Philadelph, My memory might be wrong, but didn't you post here saying that Moose was throwing up a lot when you first had her? If so, perhaps she's just got a weak tummy and can't deal with new or exotic food? I also vote vet, though, just to get her checked out and make sure there's no underlying health problem. Better to be safe than sorry. Let us know how you go!

Well, she ended up throwing up at 5pm, so I skipped my class and took her to my vet. They said it could be obstruction, or bad food, baterial, really a ton of different reasons. So, we gave her fluids into her back and it grew this big hump like a camel. They also gave her some steroid injection for her stomach to help with it. I took her home around 7pm and she hadn't thrown up. They told me not to feed her that night at all, but, around 11pm she was begging my girlfriend for a pretzel, so we fed her that. I figured if she wanted food, it would be ok. She seemed hungry so I cooked her some brown rice. She didn't throw up at night or at all today so I think she is good now. I think she may have just had trouble with some food I had given her and then the continuous throwing up just made her not want to eat which made her sicker.
I put her right back on the EVO and will get another bag of that. I (stupidly) decided to get a lamb and rice food that was on sale a couple days ago, and that could have started this whole mess.
One question: They gave me Amoxcicillin to give her, but since she is better now should I even bother? I haven't even given her one dose yet?

a quick switch can do that... dogs have to adjust to different kibbles usually. If it has a lot of grains it could have stopped her up. I've seen that happen before.

hmmm. Well I have her back on EVO now, and the only table food I really feed her is peanut butter and meat. Almost anyone who sees her compliments on how good she looks, and how there isn't an ounce of fat on her. I think its the EVO. I decided not to do the Ammoxicillin.

Bingo. That was likely the culprit. You cannot abruptly switch foods like that. Also, your dog is not used to having any grains so the sudden introduction may have added to the problem together with the unusual foods that you gave her. If your dog is not having a problem with the stool, I would not give the amoxiciilin. And even then they should test the stool to make sure antibiotics are really necessary. It ticks me off when they are prescribed and the problem is unknown because the antibiotic kills the good bacteria too and to do that for no good reason is not good.

Yep. The ol', "Well, I don't know if this is the problem or not, but I will prescribe a drug/antibiotic, "Just in case".

Yeah, I guess antibiotics are just as over-prescribed in animals as they are in humans. She definitely didn't need them, all she needed was some fluids and some EVO.
