I picked up some of this at the Vet because I thought Moose had gotten fleas since she was itching. I put it on yesterday, about 24 hours ago. It seems to have stopped her from itching a little, but she is still itching her side badly, and it seems to have gotten pretty red and raw, almost bleeding. Is there anything I could do for this?

When did she start itching? It may be an ingredient in the Evo. Or even spring seasonal allergies. Have you seen any fleas or flea dirt.

I am not sure what flea dirt looks like, but I thought I did see one flea. I took her out to a park one day and I thought she started itching later. Although, this is about the same time I started the EVO so I can't really be sure. She seems to have stopped scratching as much now. There is such a thing as spring seasonal allergies for dogs? I didn't know that.

Flea dirt looks like little specks of dirt on the hair shaft and is usually found at the base of the tail. But a dog can also have a terrible itching reaction to even one flea bite. If you feel that she has fleas then you may also have to treat her environment. For now, I would vacuum really well every day and wash her bedding in HOT soapy water. Also, for future reference, K9 Advantix is not a good product. I would use Frontline or Advantage. It costs a bit more but is much better and safer.
So many dogs have allergies to pollen and other environmental things, just like humans. In dogs it manifests usually in paw licking first (a dogs histamine is contained in the paws whereas ours manifests in a runny nose etc.). That is a whole different topic but just wanted to say that yes many, many dogs suffer from allergies.

Yep, Moosie has allergies for sure then... Paw licking and running nose. The pollen in Philadelphia is killer th is yearl
Yeah I wanted frontline, but the vet only had advantix and I was in a rush to get the fleas under control. It seems the itching has pretty much stopped thankfully. In the next month or two I will get frontline instead.

Just a note, check online for frontline - like ebay or drsfostersmith.com. Even with the shipping I pay less than half of what my vet charges for it.

I have heard though that a lot of those that you get online are diluted or not as good of quality even though they may be the same brand.

Where did you hear that? I've been ordering them from drsfostersmith.com for ages and I've never had a problem with them being of lesser quality... weird.. never heard that before.
