I think I had mentioned that Moose had trouble eating, and didn't really take to the Beneful. Today I bought a big bag of the EVO and just put a couple handfuls on top of some Beneful and she ate like I have never seen her eat! ;D
Do you think I should feed her an EVO/Beneful mixture for a while until she gets used to having a more quality dogfood? I have heard that this can avoid the runs in some dogs. Also, it will help me get rid of some of this Beneful.
Also, I paid 41.99 for the 28.6 lb bag, does that sound like a good deal, I didn't bother to call around and see.

Oh I am so happy that you were able to get the EVO. You are going to see a big change..no doggy smell, great energy (not hyper energy like on an all grain diet), beautiful coat... And absolutely mix it SLOW. Start with about 80%/20% for a day or two and then 70/30 etc. etc. The dog has to acclimate so don't rush.

Yes, I am glad too! ;D I feed raw, but I do keep a bag of Evo on hand incase some one else should have to feed my dogs. It is the only kibble I will feed, because it has no grain. I also mix it with raw ground now and then just to keep them "used" to it and have had no problem doing that either.
The price you pay is about right. I pay around $40 for the 26+ bag too, give or take a couple bucks.

ME, TOO!!! Ringo is officially on EVO, too. The 28lb bag i got was $39..definitely more $$ than Canidae. We switched him from Canidae in the hopes of him not wanting to eat his poop. meds never worked and he's now 1 year old (June1st) and hopefully, old enough to understand that it's a big NO NO! we still take him out on leash to go #2...otherwise, he's a happy, playful guy (btw, he's neutered, too!!) who loves this spring weather, running around the yard chasing the birds away (and rabbits). BTW, on a diff note, can anyone from the TRi-state area (NY-NJ-CT) tell me where a Bernese Mountain Dog rescue can be found? My sister in law wants to adopt one...Laura, this is the one from your town. She had 2 dogs (rottw/chow mix and a Golden) ..scooby and max. scooby passed away a few wks ago at age 9yrs. max is a year old and they want to have another dog..maybe in the nxt 6 mos. or so... thanks! marsha

Kuma loooooves Evo. Good grief!
Grandma started over feeding her while I was at work.I had to tell her... Only a cup and a half-2 per day! Thats it! She's cut off!
Defiantely noticed she was using the backyard a bit more at first but it seems to be getting better. I think she's adjusting really well. Her breath smells quite a bit better and her teeth are actually looking pretty pearly again! They were getting kinda yellow.
Gotta say... I'm liking the switch!

Hey Marsha, good to see you ! Hmmm, to answer your question, I only know of one Berner rescue group in our area, and they're in PA , purebred Berners aren't seen in rescue too much just yet. Any particular reason she wants a BMD? They can be a lot to handle, not disposition wise, but the expense of owning a large breed dog can get huge, not to mention the slobber factor ;D. Call me when she's ready, I can always find her a nice Siberian Muttsky when the time comes ;D
