My dog is sleeping/ behaving irregularly since I picked her up. She is completely uninterested in playing, going for walks, getting in the truck or doing anything she normally enjoyed. I talked to Brooke about it, she suggested that I post.. My friend (who is a vet tech) and the gal who was evaluating Conka INSISTED that she was vaccinated. Which I know is required for air transport BUT she is not really going anywhere now is she? argh (Sorry I am really frustrated) I have her back on raw, she developed SEVERE allergies while in their care, lost a few pounds, and her coat was unusually dull and felt dry. Since being back on raw her allergies are MUCH better, her coat is already shiny, and she has put some pounds back on. However she is sleeping ALL of the time, she is so lethargic. I thought it might be the Chicken but she NEVER reacted like this to any raw I fed before. Brooke suggested vaccinosis, which I partially suspected. And said it could take several days or possibly months to be back to normal? Is there anything I can do? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Its so sad seeing her like this.

While this may be a medical issue (and maybe a trip to the vet for a CBC would be a good idea to rule out a medical issue) I suspect it may be a stress related thing as well. Sleeping is the body's way of recuperating and coping with stress, could she be doing just that after being shuffled around, a period of adjustment? I've had foster dogs that have acted the same way, my Anna being one of them. She would sleep heavily for several days each time she returned here, almost trying to be so small that we wouldn't notice her and ship her off again. But, if she's not deep sleeping and just acting lethargic, then you may have a health problem. Her appetite is good and she's drinking ok?
