Today there was a serious rawfeeding incident here. I feel it is only fair to warn others because I have been such a vocal proponent of this dangerous practice. My foster dog Gracie has bitch slapped herself repeatedly with a turkey leg. This incident happened a 9:00 am this morning when a little bit of turkey skin was caught on one of her lower canines. She fought a long hard battle with said turkey leg - vigorously shaking her head from side to side and sustaining multiple blows to the face and neck. The brave dog never gave up and finally won the fevered battle when the vicious leg's skin gave way and it went sailing across the yard where it was ultimately attacked and devoured. Gracie suffered from a face full of turkey slime and a few moments of frantic frustration but otherwise is expected to make a full recovery. I on the other hand hurt myself laughing ;D

Amyjo, I don't happen to believe it was Gracie causing the slapping. After seeing live Turkey's chase cats/dogs, I believe even dead Turkey's or Turkey parts are dangerous!
