LOL...how come when you feed RAW going to the vet feels like getting marched off to the inquisition? Elvis' visit wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - yours will be fine too!

LOL...how come when you feed RAW going to the vet feels like getting marched off to the inquisition? Since Ann is taking Blade in before I'm taking mine, I am letting her find an agreeable Vet and then I'll just make an appt. with him/her. It works for me. ;D

The reason I am waiting is because it's not 6 months since their last dose of Interceptor, plus I'm hoping it will warm up more and I can bathe them right before taking them in. Mud....

Well Blade checked out great No heartworms no worms no sickness of any kind. I liked Dr. Anderson because he was not pushy. They still use the proheart 6 shot but when they suggested it to me and I gave my very firm opinion they backed off. Did not push any heart worm meds on me left it up to me, and he said he was very pleased with the diet I feed my dog and he knows it's raw. He said keep doing what I am doing because I have a BEAUTIFUL SIBE The fecal exam showed alot of fiberous sources so I have to back off on the bones just a bit and feed the ground meat more regular. He is a very nice vet and even though he is alopathic he listens to you and lets you make the desicions of course giving his opinion but not forcing it on you. He was very happy that I gave Cod Liver oil for a supplement and said he recomends that to dogs who have skin problems. He said to he is not versed in homeopathic treatment but if I see the benefits from it keep it up. He spent 30 minutes just playing with Blade because he was so impressed with how healthy he is. As far as vaccinations go he will do the titers but is still not convinced about the results you get because of the non conclusive study. His opinion is this either give the shots or don't he leaves that up to you. Rabies is another issue and he will give an exemption certificate if the dog has health issues. So yes I think I like it there and I just hope he does not retire in the very near future. He has been in practice for over 30 years. I left the office with a handshake and a comendation for being a great dog owner I felt very good

PS at the other vet Blade weighed in at 65#s and that was a couple of months ago. He has grown since then so I figured he weighed at least 70# Well come to find out their scale at the other vet must have been off big time. Blade has gotten bigger but only weighs 59#s what a bunch of morons. Here I thought my dog was some kind of mutant because of his weight and now I find out he is right on target.

I am so glad to hear what you have reported, Ann!! Doesn't seem the RMB's diet is so bad after all! And to think he doesn't have worms!!!!!!!!!! Didn't you know your dog is supposed to be infested with them if you feed any raw meat? ? (according to most vets and uninformed other people). That is interesting what he said about titer's, because I just read something along those lines on the TAV list today. Someone replied to a lady wanting to know if she should have them done, and the one answering said it depends on if she plans to vaccinate or not if they are low. If so, have them done, but if she is not going to vaccinate if they are low, she should save her $$$$. The only reason I can see to have Titer's done is if you want to take a class or something and they will accept Titer's in lieu of current vaccinations, but even then....what if they are low? That does not mean that your dog is going to come down with the disease!! All it means is that he has not come into contact with that disease recently! Well...it looks like I will be taking my two to him as soon as they get a bath! ;D Again...this makes me very, very happy, and that's funny about the scale! Like you said, *Morons*.

Yes it proved to me that a raw diet does not mean they get worms. We are very pleased
