What do you use? I am looking for a good shampoo that won't dry the skin. I only bathe the dogs when they are really nasty - maybe twice a year. Dirty Girl is due - the crud won't just brush out anymore! ;D

I know what you mean. Kerra isn't bad, but Pup gets under the deck and digs in the dirt!! We call him *pig pen*. I'm waiting for it to warm up alittle more yet, because even with using a hair dryer, they take a long time to dry. Anyway....I use a doggie oatmeal shampoo. It's not as harsh on their skin and makes their coat nice, plus I am sensitive to a lot of chemicals, so the oatmeal shampoo is good for me to use.

I usually use anything with oatmeal in it.... I can't think of the brand I usually get but it works really well. I'll look for the bottle...

I used to use this great smelling puppy shampoo. It was very gentle. I can't remember the name. But after reading so much about the oatmeal shampoo, I recently bought a bottle of "Natural Oatmeal Shampoo" but haven't tried it yet. I am waiting for it to warm up a bit.

Ok. We use two different shampoos depending on the time of year mostly and we haven't had any problems.
We use this stuff called Lambert Kay Salon (it is for dogs) It has Aloe Vera in it. Its an Oatmeat N' Baking Soda shampoo. The bottle we have is clear and it has a shar pei on te front. The color of the shampoo is a cream color at it smells really good! I want to say almost bananaish but not really...
The other shampoo we use is by Zodiac and we use that in the summer usually because it helps as a flea and tick repellant. I can't find the bottle though for some reason. We must have ran out of it. Its in a white bottle with a very colorful lable and it smells really fruity. If I remember right it has aloe vera in it too..but we haven't had any problems with it drying out the skin too much.

Brooke, where do you get them? The one I get doesn't have much scent to it, and your's sounds yummy! I like my dogs to smell like *fruits* for a couple of days at least!!! ;D

Well I know the flea and tick shampoo was from Petsmart. The oatmeal one was either from there or another store back in Indiana called Pet Supplies Plus but I don't think it was a chain store although it was a very large store. I'm positive you could find the oatmeal shampoo elsewhere.

Amyjo, if you are still interested, I tried the natural oatmeal shampoo on Petey this week. It is wonderful. His coat is so soft and shiny and beautiful. The shampoo feels like it is moisterizing...creamy...yet it rinses out well. There isn't a smell with this one, but he smells really clean. It is called "Pet Select Natural Oatmeal Shampoo..Hypo allergenic formula...helps relieve itching dry skin..restores natural moisture..for a healthier coat." I love it!!
