I'm a little confused on something that happened with Karma the other day. I'll see if I can explain this.
In my house I have two gates up.. one at the entrance to my pass-thru kitchen and the other blocking the hallway. Both of these cut off the dogs from the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom so I can keep an eye on them easier during the day. I also have an L-shaped couch with one half against the wall and the other half blocking off the hallway but has no wall behind it.
So the other day I was in the bedroom waking up my bf and when the dogs heard him wake up they jumped over the couch into the hallway and tried to get into the bedroom. I yelled NO and Buddha hopped back over the couch and stayed in the living room. The weird part is, Karma has never jumped over the couch before, but I assume she saw Buddha doing it and followed. Anyway she got into the bedroom and I said "NO, OUT!" which are both words that she knows. However, I'm thinking that where I was standing might have made her feel trapped in a corner. (I saw the way out for her, but she seemed confused.) So she sat down very nicely and looked at me. I said again "NO, OUT!" and pointed at the door, which usually gets her to go. So she growled a little bit and lifted up her top lip to show her teeth. I had had it and I grabbed her leash, snapped it on her, took her out of the room and locked her in her cage.
Once I had the leash on her she was all wagging and wiggly, no more growling and then after I look her out of the cage she laid down at our feet and started licking us like crazy.
So I'm wondering if this sounds like aggression on her part (which she hasn't shown before) or if she was just confused because I haven't had to correct her on anything in more than a year because she's always the obedient one. She also hasn't tried to jump over the couch since, so it seems like she got the point. I'm just curious about her showing teeth mostly.
