I'd like to teach my girls tricks. I know I can get Cori to do them but Divina is a different story.
Cori likes to roll and she already knows how to play dead and shake. What other things are fun to teach her?
And for Divina, well, she's a stubborn little rat! She doesn't like it when I touch her paws (I can do it, but I can't teach her to shake. She looks at me like "I can't believe you holding my freakin paw."). I'd love to at least get her to shake or wave or something! Especially since she's a therapy dog, I'd like her to do some tricks for people. Any suggestions on where to start? Remember, she's deaf, so things are a tad different. ;D

Here is one of my favorite TRICKS to TEACH TRICKS Because your little dear has a FOOT FETISH This should work great for you. Get one of those small pails, you know like the kind they have the citronella candles in, make sure it has a handle, then put one of her most FAVORITE DOGGIE TREATS IN THERE. Hold the pail pail low enough so that she can paw at it to tip it and the treat falls out. First let her just figure out how to do it with no verbal response, then once she gets the idea, say PAW in a very silly upbeat voice, WORKS EVERYTIME

Hmm, that might work. I'll have to figure out a sign for that since she's deaf. ;D It's hard to add a sign to things like this because when I move my hands she tends to stop and wait for a command (one that she's already familiar with). So this seems to be my problem. I'm kind of stuck here.
She's very stubborn and doesn't really like to do anything... "tricky." I'm also having a hard time getting her to roll over. I can't even get her to lie flat on her side (unless she's snoozin'). She just doesn't like it. Little beast...

Maybe teaching bow, crawl, balance treat on nose, or spin these are just some of the tricks I taught Jenny. Sheeba on the other hand is a slow learner and is just still learning to roll over.
