Yes things are so interesting in Marinette WI Bob found out a couple of weeks ago that he has a grandaughter She is already 8 months old His son has not spoken to him since my mother in law passed away before Christmas long story. When we found out of course we wanted to meet this little one excited because IT"S A GIRL and we don't have any of those. He went over to where the mom works and had a long talk with her and today she will be bringing Emma over to meet us. I feel bad for this young girl, she herself had a horriable life and she is the same age as my oldest almost 21. She said that Bob's son and his ex( the real grandma), just don't seem to care about the baby. Well I talked to her last night and told her that she can count on us, we don't have alot but we will help her in anyway we can. She thought we would be very judgemental about her circumstances and I put that thought right out of her head. I told her that things happen and the most important issue right now is Emma. She has a boyfriend who seems Very nice and she told me that he is wonderful with the baby and treats her as his own. I invited him to come also. Just think I can buy frilly pink stuff now and Barbies Matt will love this having a new little neice and I think this might make my hubby feel better to.

That's lovely. Not often that you get the chance to expand your family circle. Best wishes for the meeting.

Ann,
Is there no end to what you do for people... or how you make them feel loved and wanted so quickly?
You have earned not only a golden halo for all the wonderful things you do but I think you should be put up there with those who get nominated for a lifetime achievement award...and heck, you're not even 1/3rd of the way through yet.....
My hat is off to you and your husband...people like you guys are priceless in a world that some days seems like its going to hell in a handbasket...
Thanks for sharing that story...
-Richard

Ann you said the perfect thing to her. This has got to be so exciting for you! I can just imagine now how spoiled rotten this little girl is going to be. And the name Emma. They did good by that name. I love it ;D

Thanks Richard you made me blush ;D I just try to treat people the way my parents taught me to. When I was growing up we took in more strays ( and not just dogs) than I can count. Our house was always a place kids could could come to and feel safe. This poor girl lost her mom a couple of years ago, her dad is god only knows where, and her life up to this point has been pretty much CRAP. You should see how see loves that baby Yes I think spoiled will cover it pretty well
