Yesterday I was at the big field with Kylie and Elvis... We were playing frisbee and just hanging out sans Gracie - giving my two a little "mom" time.
We were approached by a little girl about 2 she was running accross the field about 20 yards in front of her dad... Since I am only 98% sure Elvis won't take her face off, I leashed him up and moved out of her path. I put Kylie in a down and told her she could pet the little dog. Kylie not only held her down but gave the little girl belly! Then dad came up and pet her too...the whole time she was holding her down and wiggling her whole ass!
It was really nice yesterday and there were kids everywhere - I let a few older kids throw K's frisbee for her and each time she brought it back we did "drop and leave it" and she did that for those kids! I am sooooo happy -she is really blossoming!

Wow....what a nice story.....makes you sure feel proud when you see them do stuff like that...not to mention, it shows you've spent time with your dogs and shown them how to behave properly..especially around little kids.
Nice job amyjo....and K too!! Was Elvis a gentleman even though he was leashed up....I bet he was too!

Yeah he was a good boy - he really wanted to go see her - but he has a "history"....He bit a little girl once when he was younger - before I got a clue about dogs- it was all my fault but he still pays the price. He is undoubtedly a different dog now - but like I said 98% sure isn't sure enough. I told that to the dad because she really wanted to pet Elvis. He was very respectful of that and enforced it with his daughter.

I told that to the dad because she really wanted to pet Elvis. He was very respectful of that and enforced it with his daughter. And you met up with a responsidble parent(s) who is teaching his daughter how to behave around dogs she doesn't know (good habits for dogs you do know too!) - you gotta love that in a parent... That sounded like a textbook encounter between dog/handler and passerby...well done indeed! -Richard
