So sorry, I hope you feel better soon. I am quite sure I would have been less than impressed about the doctors suggestions in your situation too!

I am sorry you are in so much pain Ann. I hope you are feeling better today. Where are you having the pain? I think they should figure out why you are having the pain.

Sorry to hear you are in such pain. I know what you are going through, because I have had Fibromylagia since about 1987 when we had a car accident. A stupid kid coming from the opposite direction made a left hand turn in front of us. Duane swerved to miss him and we would have, except when he saw us, he tried to swerve back in his lane and hit on my side. I ended up being taken to the local hosp. in the "Life Flight" Helicopter. Maybe it was the trauma of being strapped down in that little copter and flying over the river that caused the Fibro. I don't mean to joke about a serious condition, but I have heard it can be brought on by either physical or psychological trauma and of course, when you experience any sort of accident, you are bound to experience both! It took me years of going to many Dr.'s to find out what was wrong with me, because most Dr.'s diagnose " depression" as causing the pain, and prescribe anti-depressents, which only made me worse, and I know it is the other way around! When you hurt all over every single day of your life, you are bound to be depressed! When I get a day when I don't hurt, I am not depressed! I went to PT etc. too, but like most other things, you have to just keep trying things until you hit upon something that works for you. I went the " drug" route too, but after awhile they do not work, plus I did not want to be taking drugs and going through the rest of my life in a semi-conscious state, so I started doing research on my own and trying natural things that were advertised as helping Fibro., and I have to say that for the past several years now I have found what works for me and I have been the most pain free since our accident. There are still days when I can barely climb the stairs after a day of house cleaning or after taking a particularly long walk with the dogs...esp. if I do not take what helps me for a few days, but most of the time what I am taking keeps the pain and stiffness at bay so I can at least function some what normally, and I have never had a day where I was right down flat with the pain. For one thing, I am stubborn and as my sister's tell me "tough". I won't give in to it and no matter how bad I feel I get out there and walk the dogs! They told me in PT that I had to keep active or become an invilid and that is one reason I have dogs, eventhough I am getting to the age where I should think about NOT having any. They keep me going. Almost every day I say, "I'm tired today" and "this" hurts or "that" hurts, but then I see 4 eyes looking at me with expectation: "Are we going for a walk?" And I just have to go! I ALWAYS feel better when we get home, too! My dogs keep me going. ;D I hope you are able to find what will help you, Ann.

I am so sorry you are in such pain. You should change doctors! Even if you have to go through the entire evaluation process over it would be worth it to find a doctor that can help you and that you feel comfortable with. I can't keep track of all the doctors my mom has been to but she finally found one that is helping her. I am all for the holistic approach, if it works, but it can't be a cure all for everything. I can't even imagine everything you are going through. I do hope you begin feeling better soon and find the perfect doctor to help you.
