Of course, I don't " do" halloween, , but that is a great picture! Sunny is such a good boy to keep the costume on like that. ;D I noticed here last night that most of our neighbors are not handing out candy. They tell trick or treaters if there isn't a porch light on, don't go to the door, and people/kids are beginning to honor that. I also see most kids are out in cars with parents, which is really the way it should be, because it is not safe to send them by themselves anymore. They also designate a day for the different towns, and it is only for a couple of hours. Ours was last night from 4-6 p.m. It was kind of funny. On our block there was only one house who had the porch light on and there was a traffic jam in front of it! Oh, and I keep my dogs in the house for the two hours, plus I watch them closely when they are out at other times, because there are also horrible reports in the local newspapers about what has happened to pets on Halloween!

Trick or treat is purely an American custom, but it is becoming more common here in Australia in some communities. The area where I live is a small, quiet, neighborly community and T or T started a couple of years ago. The children meet in the streets in the early evenings, and only go to each other's houses, not houses at random.
I like seeing the kids in costume, and was delighted that at dog training that night a couple of the dogs came in costume. One was outfitted as a walking bone, which was kind of dangerous in a field full of dogs. ;D
