I, Brooke, received this from my boss who is the security officer for the bank I work for today. This is straight from the Fort Wayne Police Department. This information was verified by phone in front of me to be true and fact by the Fort Wayne Police Station prior to my boss sending us this.
Although this has been issued and confirmed locally to be a possible issue please remember this is also known to be a *National Initiation Day.
This is for this weekend, starting Friday 3/31/06.
PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL THIS WEEKEND!

Subject: FW: Possible Gang initiation in the area
This is very disturbing but also very important to read. I verified this information with Jeremy Weaver of the East Central Probation Office today. Neal Toussaint Tower Bank & Trust Security Officer
---------- From: Jeremy Weaver Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2006 11:06 AM To: Weaver,Tiffany Subject:Information regarding gang initiation
We just received this information:
FWPD has informed us that drivers are NOT to give a courtesy warning to drivers without headlights on. This is a gang initiation and one of the gangs is having national initiation days this Friday and Saturday.
The goal of the gang is to drive around without their headlights, and the first driver to give a courtesy warning of flashing their lights at the gangs car will become the target. They then follow that car and shoot to kill everyone inside. They are doing this to try and become members of the gang.
Again, this is from the FWPD. Please be carful and DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT ANYONE.

We had something like that floating around up here last year.
As the website Laura noted, it ended up coming from a letter from a guy who works for the RCMP out west...meant as a confidential letter, it got out and away we went.
I got an email from someone and I sent it on too to others....duh, considering what I do for a living, I shoulda known better..
Ahh the good old Urban Legends. Like taxes and death, they'll be with us forever!!
