I got Jax a year ago when he was 12 weeks old. He has been a true girls best friend, and is usually extremely well behaved. He has been in training classes, I walk him about 4 times a week, he goes to the dog park everyday, and is very well socialized. I also take him almost everywhere I go, but is kennel trained when he is not able to accompany me. He is an all around amazing dog and has never snapped or growled at any adult, pre-teen. But in the past 3 months he has lunged and snapped at 2 toddlers, but did not bite them. But this behavior is completely horrifying and scares me. Both incidents I was present. As he has played with kids around the youngest age being 9. The two toddlers he lunged at were around 4-5 years old and about his size. With both situations I said he is friendly when the small children were unsure about petting him, I almost feel like maybe the stress the children were feeling could have triggered a defense mode, but I have no idea. All I know is this is completely not normal behavior for Jax and cannot continue. Jax is also not neutered, could that have anything to do with these random acts of aggressive behavior?
