Levi, I understand what you are saying. You believe that a training tool should be just that, a training tool and not a life long project. I don't really think anyone totally disagrees with you. But different dogs require different amounts of time with the tool. The goal is to eventually wean the dog off of the training tool but for some dogs it is a life time endeavor. These are dogs that not many people could handle in the first instance. And they have become well behaved productive members of society. That is the point that you missed. I think the problem is that you were directly critical of particular members who have achieved great success at training very difficult and aggressive dogs. This takes longer than training and proofing your average foo-foo or mild mannered lab.
Stick around and join us. We have some great, experienced and genuinely nice people here. I for one love hearing varied opinions.
