Hello ! My name is Ioana and I am here to learn as much as possible about dogs. I will come as often as possible though I am a member at a catforum and dogforum(that is where I have found the invitation to your link at ) I owned dogs in the past but not long ago I have come accross two kitties that were sick so I adopted them. I will certainly have dogs again - maybe not so soon - but I definately need them in my life! p.s. I also have a suggestion to make : how about an introductory section in the forum where new members can introduce themselves? Nice to meet everybody

Hi Ioana. Welcome!!! It is good to have you here. Right now, introductions are being made in the general conversation forum. That is a good suggestion though and I am sure Brooke will take it under consideration.

I am glad to be here also, Willow and Sibemom. Thank you for the warm welcome
Brooke - that doggie looks a lot like one of the dogs I used to have. His owners abandonned him and I begged my parents to let me adopt him. I used to feed him long before the abandonment anyways. His name was Little Paw (Labus in Romanian) and was one amazing dog - very warm-hearted, one of my best friends...just like all of my dogs. I could write a whole big book about all of them. Unfortunately none of my doggies are alive today - may all of them rest in peace. They will always be with me, in my heart like a treasure.

Aw Thats my girl Kuma. She's my angel. ;D I couldn't ask for a better dog. I definately don't look forward to the day she won't be around anymore. That is going to be the hardest day ever! Here's my little nerd Peeka I'll make it a little bigger in a minute

Thank you for your compassion, Brooke. I have been through a few losses - Maybe it was harder on me then because I was a teenager - I don't know. My parents were very scared because of my state of mind those days. But I know I have to be strong now and not cry anymore. They made me a better person and they are with me all the time. Awww your girls look lovely..Kuma looks so wise and calm whilst Peeka seems to be very inquisitive ready to jump. I see sparks in her eyes I bet they know a lot of tricks too. Some of my dogs knew how to shake. Rex had good tactics at chasing bears away - he was a brave dog. How did you come up with the names - they are very interesting! *hugs* to your doggies from me

Well with Kuma we actually picked out her name before we got her. I thought I was going to end up with a large yellow boy but ended up with a small black girl. (I've always been a huge sucker for black lab/shep mixes for some reason) She was a mama's girl from the second I saw her. I was stuck to her and we bonded like super glue. We rescued her and 2 others all at the same time. They really had no one caring for them. They lived under a trailer. There were two litters. 13 puppies in all. Out of the 13 only 4 lived. We took the three and someone else took the other. We rehomed the other two with friends and kept Kuma. Her name is actually Akuma ( AH-koo-ma) which ironically means "evil" or "little devil" in japanese. Everything she absolutely is not nor ever has been in anyway shape or form. Even as a puppy she was perfect. Very easy going and mature. (My husband is japanese american.) We call her Kuma for short which means "bear" in japanese which fits her a little better anyway. She's extremely docile, loving and just the perfect amount of submissiveness. She's my velcro dog, my heart will truely break when she is gone. Boy you hit Peeka right on the nose! The girl doesn't sit still. She's always roaming. Her name is actually Peeka Boo. With her we had a hard time picking a name that suited her. We ended up coming up with that one. It was inspired by her eyes which WERE a gorgeous icy blue color. Now they are a pretty hazel color. How could you say no to a face like that? I could look at pictures of puppies all day long every day...dogs for that matter.... I wish my camera was working because I want to get back into photography. My brand new $300 lens fell apart in my hand!

Oh Brooke, that face is so cute. Both of your dogs are gorgeous. Ioana, I am so sorry for your loss. You sound like such a wonderful dog/cat mommy. It is good to have you here. Now where exactly do you live that Rex was chasing off Bears...
