4 officers of the Menominee City Police Department were suspended after the way the handled an out of control feline. The officers were called to a residence in Menominee after the frightful call of the owner telling them they cat had attacked her and done some severe damage. The officers got to the home and found the cat in a crazed state. They called the station and were told by their supervisor to secure the cat and then drown it. The officers complied. Oh this is really getting bad with this issue. That poor woman who I happen to work with is getting all kinds of crap from everywhere. I wish people would get thier facts straight before they write the paper with their opinions. You can follow this story by going to that link on the original post. I feel so awful for her. I hope that those officers get punished for this because if you or I did something like that we would already be in jail.

I am amazed with this story...
I don't think these guys had the right to make the decision to kill this cat. Thats not their job. Granted they would have to do it with a vicious dog but come on....its a cat. Let animal control deal with it!

Well the saga continues. It was just in our paper yesterday about one of the officers involved about how he had shot and killed the pet of a man who no longer lives in that city. The mans dog was out in the yard with him and it was rather warm out. The dog was also being treated with anti biotics for some illness. Well the pooch wandered off and when the owner realized it he took off after him. He got to the scene just as the shot was being fired by this officer. Because of the heat and the treatment the dog had a little foam around its mouth and was stumbeling it was an elderly pet 14. The officer told the owner he thought it had rabies and killed it and now had to remove it's head to send to the lab. The man was outraged. He filed suit in civial court but then dissmised it. So this was not the first time something like this happened.
