My dog is a two-year-old pit bull mix, and she doesn't know her yard boundaries. My father doesn't care for my dog, so she's outside a lot, and she uses a shock collar thing. I've tried to teach her using just the "stay in your yard" method when she was much younger (and allowed to be inside the house more), but she didn't take. Recently, though, she's been running out of the shock collar boundary and shocking herself every time. Then, when I call her, she ignores me, or sometimes she comes within reach of me, then (I guess she thinks I'm playing) she runs back and forth really fast. She'll disappear for 30 minutes to an hour, and I take her on walks every day at 8:30 PM.
I don't know if this could have anything to do with the situation, but my family recently got 2 new pups, Toy Fox Terrier/Toy Poodle mix. My dog thinks of them as her puppies, but they stay inside nearly all day. Could my dog feel left out? Could she be looking for attention in a negative manner?
Thanks for any response.

I don't know if this will help. but try getting your dog used to the sound of the "click" of the dog leash. Get her to think of that as a good sound. Then after she associates "click, click" with going for a walk. When she gets loose from the yard, play with her, run around with her, see if she will chase you. Then when she least expects click the leash. She may forget that she is loose and come up to you to go for a walk. If she comes to you, praise her, or bring her for a short walk. This has worked for my dog. When she gets loose we play chase with her, then she comes when we click her leash. and she gets a cookie!!

My dog doesn't respond to the "click" of the leash, but she responds to the rattling of it (it's a chain leash). I think that would work, though! thank you so much!
