Today I received notice that I have successfully completed the Delta CGC Certificate IV in Behavioral Dog Training. I actually completed the last assignment in December, but it took four months to get the results. So now I can conduct the CGC award test.
Coincidently, today I also received notice that I have been awarded a Masters degree in Animal Ethology from the International Society for Applied Ethology. If I went on to get a veterinary degree I could be an internationally certified Veterinary Behaviorist. (Unlikely!)
It's been almost two years of incredibly hard academic work (on top of working full time, running my own business, and regularly instructing at the club.) I did not intend to double up on the study, but the opportunity to get accredited from the ISAE was too good to turn down.
On a smaller domestic achievement, my garage flooded in February. The garage is where I keep all of my Air Dogs stock and it gets out of hand from time to time. Today I finally had the perfect alignment of a day off, good weather and inspiration. It was a massive dirty job, but at last I have a floor that you could eat off of (so to speak), there are no more weave poles in the hallway, and everything is in its place.
The chaos that has defined my life over the last two years is finally subsiding. It won't be long before I find a new hobby/obsession. To me the absence of stress is not relaxation. The absence of stress is boredom.
I need to buy 2 frames soon, but that can wait. Tonight is for getting some friends together and celebrating.
