I need to get new training collars. I know I will be getting a prong for Elsie. Sadie works better on a "choke" collar. I have seen the fur saver collars before but have never used one. Sadie's fur is a bit longer on her neck but we haven't had a big problem in the past. Is their any benefit to using one over the other? Do they function the same for training purposes? I also have seen stainless steel and chrome offered in both. From what I remember, stainless steel is the better quality? Or do I have that backward?

I've found the fur saver works well only with very heavy coated dogs. It's a bit harder to get a good correction with the bigger links unless there is a lot of hair underneath. With the Prong, stainless steel is longer lasting, so you've got it the right way round.
