A while ago I posted about meeting a woman named Sister Pauline Quinn, at the welcome home the troops parade here in my town. Well I was in AWE of her because of what she accomplished with the Prison Dog Programs through out the country. What I did not know was that she lives with a family very near to my house. Yesterday when I was contacted about more events going on for Operation United Hearts I was extended the most wonderful invitation. Sister founded an orginization called Pathways to Hope. It helps those in need and people who have experienced a trauma especially those with PTSD. The invitation was for me to spend time with her and one of Andy's friends Grandparents who sister lives with. Sister knew my situation and promised me that she will be there for me during this very difficult transition time dealing with the things I have lost from this accident. I was truly honored that they extended this courtisy to me and believe me I will always be thankful. I think what sealed the deal for us is the fact that she met the young boy who I had trained my last Service Dog for, and she was very impressed with him. She is an amazing woman because her life was very tragic but she came through it so if she can overcome the obsticles that she had it inspires me to at least try and regain some of what I had before, that is why she has offered her support to me. Somethings about her life are very similar to my own, and we just clicked. If anyone is interested in learning about her just do a Google on Sister Pauline Quinn and her life story will come up. I am thankful that she is so near to me and has given me a bit more hope for my situation.
