Laminate wood is a good option. You get the look of wood but it doesn't scratch. I remember in North Carolina though we had half our house un-carpeted and I hated it with two dogs. I would sweep and sweep and sweep and it just always felt like there was dirt and hair on it if you were barefoot. Even if you mopped after about half the day of the dogs walking on it it felt like there was dirt on it. It just never felt clean. Makes you realize what's in the carpet but it gets pretty cold here in the winter and it helps keep the house warmer.

Too funny! Gosh... Kuma's closing in on 7.5 years now. It's amazing how much life changes when you have kids. I almost feel guilty for not giving her all of my constant undying attention anymore but I know that she still has a great life. She's such a great dog.

Life takes all kinds of twists and turns. Loey you did more than most would have done and you gave her a good home that will fit her needs. You gave her benefit of doubt and love when she needed it. The fact that you found her a good home is love in itself. Think of how many people out there dump a dog on the first willing person and could care less about what they are putting the dog in the middle of. You realized your limitations and you made a responsible choice and you followed through with what was the best for the dog. Don't sell yourself short, it doesn't mean you love her any less.

Gosh this is all so interesting. I'm glad that you aren't giving up on her though. She didn't ask for what she is and it doesn't mean she's a bad dog. She's in the right hands though! ;D

I'm so sorry Ann. That's awful! I just came home for lunch and thought I'd check in since I have time to myself for the first time in forever! What a terrible surprise! I'm so sorry!

When free fed, dogs have a much higher tendency to become overweight. As far as the generic foods it's not the greatest to feed them. They are filled with significantly more grains and fillers that don't process as easily. You can tell a difference in what they leave in the yard. ;D The quality of food that goes into the cheaper foods is not as healthy. (Dually noted by the petfood recall causing deaths and health failures awhile back) Infact there are only a few brands I would consider feeding my dog (especially after that). For the past 5 years I've had her on Canidae dry dog food. I pay about $30 for a 40 lb bag. She doesn't seem to have a strong doggy smell that tends to take over the house. She's 7 years old and her teeth are pearly white and she only poops 1-2 times a day. I really feel the type of food you feed age them faster too.
The dogs I had on crappy foods tended to poop a lot more and it was a lot smellier and the stool was more loose due to the grains and fillers.

Because you have chosen to abuse our boards I have chosen to remove your advertisment as well as your membership. There are more respectful ways of promoting your business.
