It's been a long and exhausting process to set up my dog daycare business, but now that all that is mostly completed, all that's left to do is the long and exhausting process of running a dog daycare. At Scooby Dogs, I don't have big packs of random dogs playing. I carefully match pairs and trios of compatible dogs. I supervise the interactions to make sure it all remains positive, and each dog gets individual time and development. Here are some random happy snaps of some of the dogs having a good time at Scooby Dogs: Willa and Ben, the anxious and high energy Samoyeds, my first and most challenging clients. They are heaps better, calmer and quieter now, but still a handful. Luckily they are gentle and friendly dogs. Pebbles, the socially and emotionally starved long-haired German Shepherd (aka, the wooly mamoth) who has blossomed in a daycare setting. She sat by herself and watched a lot. She would follow other dogs playing, but didn't know how to join in. Tarot taught her to play. Now Pebbles initiates play and plays with gusto, even with Cody who overwhelmed her at first. Snoopy, the practically perfect Maltese x Shih Tzu little man, who bravely and successfully took on Cody as a playmate. As long as Snoopy gets some lap time every day, he is the best possible day care client: calm, well behaved and enjoyable. I just need to get more clients! Word of mouth and advertising is starting to produce more enqueries, and now I just need to grow the business.

Hi Aussie,
Everyone looks happy...no worries about the clientele: like a dog walking business, there are always places like yours being passed on amongst dog people so it will only be a matter of time before Scooby's becomes the place to be if you're a K9 looking for some fun!

Some more photos Great Dane mix Tyson and Samoyed Ben compare dental work. One Friday, Willow, Tango, Tippi and Daisy all arrived. So I created Yellow Labland. Pictured clockwise from left. Toy Poodle Libby, Maltese x Poodle Tiffany and Shih Tzu Benji are nicknamed the Three Fluffateers. BFFs who never stop playing and don't leave each other's sides. Thursday regulars Irwin (cattle dog maltese mix, think about that one for a moment) Jake (Mini Fox Terrier and popular crazy boy) and Tiffany make plans. Cody telling Shepherd x Rottweiler puppy Morgan, Yes, someday your feet will be this big too. Morgan looks appropriately shocked.

I had resigned myself to a sand sable, but he's doing his best to turn into a brown sable for me. Sometimes I look at him and think cooee, he's a magnificent animal. For Christmas presents, I had some of my best customers dogs professionally photographed. The owners loved their dog's portraits. And I sent a copy of Cody's to his breeder. She gets all the credit for his looks.

Do you need any permission from any vet to run a daycare? I want to run a dog daycare someday but I don't have the necessary papers to handle.
