This is a terrible reminder to always keep an eye on your dog, and that it only takes a second for things to go wrong. At my dog training school on Monday, June 27th there was a terrible accident. One dog ended up getting killed. A Yorkie got chomped on by a Sibe. Both of these dogs were working on Advanced agility titles and were also working on CDX's, so it wasn't like these dogs were untrained. Just a sad reminder of the things that happen even it you think your dogs are highly trained and fine around others. On a much lighter note... My dog that has problems with being very slow and methodical in agility has been amazing people for two weeks now with her speed change. So.. everybody don't take your dogs good behavior for granted and keep a close eye on them even if you think they are fine.

That's terrible. What happened - were they playing together, or both running the course at the same time?

Oh no, this is so sad. My hart goes out to the owner.

It didn't happen on the course it happened in the potty area where sometimes dogs are let off-lead to do their business in the tall grass. I have to add that the woman with the Sibe was a breeder and had to recently put the dog that attacked's father to sleep the week before, so it was a very difficult time for her those couple of weeks, I feel so bad for her

I feel badly for both owners. It was a tragic accident for people who obviously cared and were very involved with their dogs, and were doing the right things.
A man that trains at my obedience club lost his 41 year old son to a sudden heart attack this week. I think the message of cherish the ones you love, and celebrate every day can't be repeated enough.
