Kaos, once again I think you are right. ;D
Most hard core dog/animal lovers will work toward making their pets comfortable, before themselves and when they pick a place to live, if at all possible, they will choose a place with a yard etc. for the " dog"(s) and like in Nicki's case...she has a doggie door so her dogs can come and go when they have to, and in Ann's case, she has the outdoor kennel and I know she also worked very hard fencing in the yard etc. I also always have an outdoor kennel when possible, although now my dogs are seldom in it.
But there were times it just wasn't in a dogs best interest or ours to own one because of where we lived, so I did have a cat instead. I have always had to have something and even now if I wasn't allergic to cats I would have one and I would have more dogs if I could manage them, and horses if we had a place for them, but because of limitations on my part, I try to be content with just the two dog I have, although I want almost every other Aussie I see in rescues/HS's. ;D
Also, because I am such an animal lover and both my husband and I are such outdoor people, we have always tried to plan ahead and live where I could have my dog(s) and we could do the things we wanted to do and we have accomplished that pretty much of the time. But to do that, we have been content to live in places where we did not have theaters, fancy night clubs, expensive clothing stores near by...(when you live in jeans and sweat shirts, who needs Sacks? ;D
But here I go rambling again.
