I have about had it with most of the Yahoo lists. Two in particular! There are always the "all knowing" people on them and if they do not agree with what you post, they come back with very sarcastic, nasty comments and talk " down" to you. I know I am not the brightest bulb in the package, but I really don't think what I posted was deserving of being talked to in the manner I was, and it is not just me. They do it to other's too and want "the studies to prove that what we are saying is true". It would be nice if there were studies for every thing, but there isn't, and just because there is a study done on some thing doesn't mean that the results are accurate. I will usually trust personal experience before a study, but on one list, unless it has a "study" to back it up, they don't want to hear it! They make me soooooo

I guess it's the way on-line forums are Loey, not much we can do about it. There are so many out there now. What you need to remember too is that you'll get all ages participating in them and having said that, some days, anything goes. We've had our fuss and fizzles here too over the years but it doesn't go a 1/4 as far as some forums do. Remember the days over at DP? Oh yeah, those were the days eh? Some days it was like a feeding frenzy where anything/anyone was open to attacks...the flame retardant suit was always a welcomed site most days there!
In the big scheme of things, you're not always gonna win...online forums are just a bunch of people from different walks of life with something to say. They're just opinions and when it comes down to it, given what you said about the yahoo sites, bullies don't only exist in the playgrounds, they exist on the internet too...the trick is to know when to walk away!

Yes, I should take what some have to say with a grain of salt, I know. Thanks for reminding me. I'm all better now.

That is a shame because you have so much knowledge and experience to offer. Unfortunately, I think most lists are like that which is why I stay right here. I think we are all normal. ;D And Richard I sure remember those days...yikes....remember LindaW. and that one guy..I can't remember his name...he was a fat old mean man who disappeared suddenly and even though he was a horrid person, I actually PMed the ingrate because I thought he had had a heart attack because he kept saying how fat he was. And what does he do, he comes back on and continues to be as mean as ever. And the other guy Sven or somebody who argued about everything. I could go on and on. That seems like it was ages ago. But the idiots are out there. I remember reading a post from someone responding to a freak of a person saying how do I know you aren't typing from prison or a mental institution. That puts things in perspective. And while they may not be in either place I find that many should be!!!

You guys are sooo funny! Thanks for the "memories". The one I remember most on DP is the one who claimed to be a prof. trainer and who was always getting badly bitten because she was so stupid and giving idiotic advise, and when I would disagree with her, I was the one who would get into trouble! Thanks, too, for saying I am knowledgeable, Nicki. Actually one of the lists I was on was because of Kara's ACL injury. The other was a raw feeding list and I don't know why I went there to be insulted, because I know how to raw feed my dogs! I don't go to any other training lists. They are a waste of time. Ann, too bad you didn't find DP sooner. We were becoming outnumbered by the idiots over there and would have welcomed your help. Ann always backed me up with the idiots in the rescues too, and then we both got into trouble. But, isn't that what friends are for? And not to forget the "short bus". What a ride that was and just what we needed after the fiasco at DP. Well, reminiscing has been fun, but I have to run. I have to stock up on pencil thin rawhides.

Loey, I remember that lady...man she was a doozie at the best of times letalone when she started to " disperse her experience and knowledge" then it got just downright dangerous - but entertaining!! We always had fun there with some of the so called "experts" cuz when it came down to it, Loey would always know her stuff forwards, backwards and into next week better than they ever could. As for the "Affair du SB", well, yeah, I'm not sure if there is a good way to explain that one...

I remember her too. Didn't she use a man's name. I always thought she was a he. She thought that getting bitten a lot was a sign that she was a good trainer. I never could figure that one out!!

VEEGA!!!! That's the one I'm talking about, Brooke! Also, Nicki...I think the one you are talking about...Sven or somebody was THOR! Remember THOR? He and I went 'round and 'round many times! I have since "pretty much" figured out it isn't worth it, although now and then I still have to step in when some one is giving really idiotic advise.
